Noby was so excited to tell me all about the visitor they had at school today. He went on and on about how he learned he needed to Stop, Drop and Roll if there was “fire on him.” He also couldn’t believe that he got to go on the real firetruck. Did you know, “there was a PHONE in it!” It was really funny to hear what parts of the visit he really liked and what stuck with him to tell me about.
Everyone came home with a firefighter hat and coloring book!
Ohhh and this little guy is VERY proud of himself. He can now climb up on the couch himself. His mom? Not so happy!!
And as for me, Day 3 of the Detox went very well! I was nervous cause I read a lot of negative things about the third day. I suppose tomorrow might be bad but I’m just going take it day for day. Tonight I made an awesome juice! Red grape, pineapple, pear and spinach!! I’ll be making that one again!

My second day of detox has been “ok.” I’ve had a headache most of the day but I think that has to do with a caffeine withdrawal I’m having. I also kept getting the a chill but to be honest I’m not sure if that’s because it’s just COLD outside! haha After water aerobic I felt a little weak but again that could just mean a good workout tonight.
One of today’s juices, carrots, kiwi, pineapple, cucumber. VERY YUMMY!!
I’m a little nervous about what tomorrow will bring. Everything I read online says that the 3rd and 4th day of detox is the worse. But I’m going to stick with it, it’s only 10 days!!

Today was day 1 of my 10 day all raw, all juice detox. Last week a friend suggested, on Facebook, to watch the movie Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead. When she said it was streaming on Netflix I logged on to check it out. The movie was amazing and so inspiring. It’s the story of Joe Cross, an overweight Aussie who was also suffering from autoimmune disease. When medicine wasn’t working for him, he decided to take back his life and have his body heal itself. He traded in his junk food, purchased a juicer, and set out to drive cross country only drinking fruits and vegetables for 60 days. The documentary shows Joe’s transformation from an sick overweight couch potato, who was taking a number of different pills to a healthy, active man. The movie also highlight the story of Phil Staples. On his trip cross county Joe met a 429lb truck driver name Phil. Joe offers Phil his help and you would just be amazed where Phil’s journey takes him.
I started doing some more digging and I found that a raw, juicing detox was designed to detoxify and strengthen organs like the liver, colon, kidney, skin and lungs. They say that the juice provides concentrated vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and other nutrients in an easily absorbed form. The more reading I did the more I intrigued I got. I decided that I was going to give it a try. Not a 60+ day detox like Joe and Phil, but more of a 10 detox. I figure I could do anything for 10 days, right? Friday I went in search of a juicer, Sunday I went shopping for fruits and veggies and today I got started!
It was actually fun. I had a good time mixing fruits and veggies and hoping they taste good. Today I made 4 different juice, one at 9 am, one at 1 pm, 5 pm and 9 pm. Some were definitely better then others, but over all they were all drinkable!
Here’s a picture of my second juice of the day. It includes, a green apple, 3 handfuls of spinach, 6 kale leaves, 1/2 cucumber, 4 celery stalks and half a lemon. It was actually pretty tasty!

We had a few cocktails, some yummy foods and played a game called Pokeno! Throughout the night we had the opportunity to win prizes that we were all asked to bring. It was so much fun and I ended up coming home with some amazing prizes!

So how could we not try the juicer tonight? I was so excited to get it I just had to try it!! We searched the fridge and found some apples, baby carrots and mini cucumbers. Noby was VERY excited to “liquefy” stuff. haha If you know him, you know he loves to “blend” things! haha
Someone wanted the apple in the picture….
Noby dropped the apple in and I pushed down…
He was very interested in what was happening…
Soon he wanted to do it all…
Checking out the juice…
He had a great time but who wants to guess if he drank any?

Today the boys and I headed to the outlets for a little shopping. I’m in the market for a juicer (more on that later) and I wanted to see what deals I could get at the outlet before I headed to a department store. While we were there Noby got some rain boots. His friend Joshua has some at school and Noby is always talking about them. He was so excited to try them out!
So I know you were wondering… Did you get a juicer?? I DID!! I got at GREAT deal at the Williams Sonoma Outlet!!

It’s been raining all week. Usually that wouldn’t be a big deal but now that Koji is in his big boy car seat I realized that he really doesn’t have a raincoat. That was until I remember the awesome red WITH MOOSE coat Cici gave for Noby last time we were in CT. It was to small for Noby but would be perfect for Koji!!!
Ok, a little big but he will grow into it!!! Besides I think he likes it…

Today we had to run to Toys R Us. The boys have a birthday party on Saturday and we wanted to find the perfect gift. I knew it was going to be an adventure and that we would be in there a while but really what else did we have to do today! hahaha I forewarned Noby what we were only buying a gift for Colby. I explained that Colby likes Thomas the Train and that was what we were buying today. No Cars. No Cars 2. No Cars Toon. He said he understood so we headed in. We looked at EVERYTHING! Noby was such a good boy, he wanted to look and hold every Cars toy in the store but when I told him it was time to put them back, he gave me no problem at all. We picked out a birthday gift and then headed to look at the Cars, “just one more time, please Mommy.”
Noby was in HEAVEN!!!
Ok I couldn’t help it… I just had to get him this one… It’s the Japanese Sumo Wrestler, Kingpin Nobunaga!
