Some of my fondest summer memories are from the time we spent at the RI shore, Misquamicut Beach to be exact. From our Saturday day trips, to weeks we rental a house, we ALWAYS had a great time. I remember getting in the car before sunrise and heading down. We would sit in traffic on the long road in and then again when we got to the state beach. We would be there so early the state beach wouldn’t even be open. I remember spending ALL day; building sandcastles and playing in the best waves ever. We wouldn’t leave until the beach closed and we were kicked out. My other memories are of the beach houses we rented with the Blackburns. Just like our day trips, I have so many wonderful memories about our week stays. We would have early morning breakfasts (always egg sandwiches) at our favorite restaurant on the beach, we would spend entire days baking in the sun, and nights were spent working on a puzzle. I’ll never forget all the great memories I had from those times. As I look back and think about them, I realize just how lucky I was to have parents that loved the beach!
Well recently Brenda and I talked about the possibility of renting a house with our parents this summer. Come July they will both be ready, and in need of a vacation. We asked if they were interested and they seemed just as excited as us. I knew if we really wanted this we needed to act fast. It’s February and places will start to fill quickly. We needed a 3 bedroom and we wanted it to be near were we use to rent. Once I got the OK from Ichiro, I ran with it. This all happened this past week. Friday I called the reality office again and the lady told me I should pick a house and put my name on it. She said things were going fast and availabilities were changing by the hour. I put my name on the top house I wanted and Brenda and I planned to go down the next day to check it out. If we hated it the lady would show us others in our price range. I wasn’t looking for anything crazy, just a place we could sleep. In my view beach rental houses are not luxury places. They are usually small, weirdly decorated, but close to the beach. And to me the only important part is location to the beach, most of my time will be spent there.
I only shot a couple of pictures but here you go…
LOOK HOW CLOSE WE ARE!!! The entrance to the beach is to the left of that middle house!
Our beach breakfast place is right behind that middle house!!!
I love how the couch matches the picture on the wall. And LOVE that fish!
When I got home Ichiro said he needed to head to Target. So back in the car we went and over to the Everett Plaza. We got what we needed at Target and headed over to Babies R Us, I wanted to check out a “sheet-savers” for Noby’s crib. Anyway while I ran around the store Ichiro relaxed on the gliders. Guess what we came home with….
The chair is wonderful! Now both Noby and I are comfortable while he eats!
Well because the chair is a little on the large size we had to move the dresser. I’ve tried a couple of other spots but I decided to leave it here for now. I’m going to see if it grows on me.
