9 Cedar Cliff Terrace has gone Green.  Maybe it had something to do with Mo and our vacation but this morning Noby and I got up and headed to the Town Hall to buy ourselves a recycling bin.  I think it looks good in front of our house!

Sunday we headed back to Rhode Island, not for the beach this time, but so Noby can finally meet his new girlfriend!  The Lemoines had a picnic so that everyone could meet little Peyton!  We had such a great time (when Noby was behaving) and it was so nice to see everyone!

I can finally post some pictures of the other quilt I was working on while I was making the beach blanket.  This was the first quilt I’ve made as a gift.  Making a gift quilt is so much more difficult then making one for yourself.  A gift is just never perfect.  I kept sewing and then unsewing it, trying to make it perfect.  (Just don’t look to closely!)

Friday was our last day at the beach and it didn’t disappoint!! The weather was once again beautiful!  It was another perfect beach day!

Being our last day and the fact that it was such a perfect day, we decided not to bring Noby home for a nap.  Of course he was so tired that he took a little snooze…

First Noby climbed in, then Ari followed him, how cute!  It’s a good thing they like each other, it will make the arranged marriage not so bad.

That night the 6 of us went to my new favorite restaurant!  It was like heaven… Don’t worry Jeff, next year we WILL be going back!

On the way home, after a quick visit to Kathy and Glenn’s condo Noby fell asleep.  He was so tired that he didn’t wake up when I took him out of the car, he also didn’t wake up when we changed his diaper, he didn’t walk up when we put his pjs on either, he didn’t move an inch…

I think this picture sums up what an awesome two weeks of beach vacation we had!!  Thanks to everyone who shared in the adventure!!  Can’t wait for next year!

Thursday morning Kathy, Sarah and Maggie all came over for breakfast and to finish the 4th puzzle.  This was such a fun puzzle and Ichiro wanted to eat it all up!!!

We were hoping that the weather would turn around and that we might be able to hit the beach.  That never happened so we had our 3rd NoBeachDay.  Actually not that bad for a two week vacation!  We hung around the house for the day and late afternoon, after Noby’s nap, Ichiro and I took him to the local park.  When we first got to the park I was nervous.  The slides were SOO high and there were so many paces where Noby could fall off.  Also there were only “big boy swing,”  that made Noby not happy.  Well around the back of the jungle gym here was a second one.  It was fenced in by itself, only openings were the slides were and it was only about half the height of the other gym.  Ohhh and don’t forget baby swings!!  That made Noby sooo happy!!!  It was perfect for us and Noby had such a great time, running AND climbing!

That night Brenda, Ichiro and I headed to Mohegan Sun for a little fun!  We had such a great time.  And I actually left with more money then I went in with!! It might have only been $60 but it was still more!  Ichiro also left as a winner, coming home with and extra $125!   WOW I know it isn’t a TON of money, it’s not going to buy the beach house I want, but we still left in the black!  Next time you see Brenda, you ask her house how long it took her to lose $100!

Today our family show up and they brought the sun with them!!  Aunt Denise, Aunt Giselle, Adrienne, Kay and PEPERE all came down for some fun in the sun!  We had such a fabulous time with them, it was so nice to hang out for the day.   Half of us headed to the beach, while half of us stayed back at the house to play dominoes and cards.

Wednesday Night is the Hermit Crab Races at the local beach shop.  We wanted to go last week but the race was canceled due to the rain.  It was the first time they canceled the race in 4 years.  We were all pretty disappointed last week that we missed the race, but no one was more disappointed then Mo. lol  Ichiro and I said we would go this week and take lots of pictures to show her.

We showed up at 7 to register for the race, you pick your crab and then wait for your heat.   The heats started at 8 so to waste some time we headed for some ice cream.  When we got back to the Purple Ape it was just about time to begin.  We were hermit crab number 9 in heat 4.  There were 10 crabs in a heat and 9 heats all together.

GUESS WHAT MO… OUR CRAB CAME IN FIRST FOR OUR HEAT!!!  That’s right, Noby won his heat.   Now you don’t win anything for winning your heat, you only get a place in the final race.  So we waited around for the final race to happen.    All the heats only had 10 crabs in the race but the final race had the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place crabs from each heat, so a total of 27 crabs.  By the time the final race started Noby was ready to leave.  He wouldn’t sit, he didn’t want to be held, and there were just way to many people to let him walk around.  Right before the final race started I tried to get Noby close to the track to see the race, but of course there were so many kids (27 of them) trying to get close enough to see.  While we were trying to see, Noby dropped a little stone on the boy standing in front of him.  Then he started to pull the kids sweatshirt, so I moved out of the viewing area.  WELL GUESS WHAT MO!!  Noby’s crab came in 3rd in the FINAL race!!!  That’s right, Noby won an hour free on the paddle boats.   We knew we wouldn’t use the prize so I decided to just give it to one of the kids there.  Who better to give it to then the kid Noby dropped a rock on. lol They were so excited and the parents were very appreciate.

Tuesday we had our second day of rain.  We were out of puzzles so we decided to venture out and look for some.  Our first stop was the Hallmark store.  Hallmark always has the best puzzles!  We got two that looked like they might take us a little longer than the easy ones we’ve done.  Next we headed to Walmart, anything to get out of the house. lol

By the time we got home it was time for Noby’s nap, so Mom and I started the first puzzle.  4 hours later we put the last piece in. lol I guess it wasn’t as hard as we thought!

It was a big roast beef/chocolate/cheese/salami/french fry/pizza/ham/cheeto sandwich with lettuce, tomato, onions and pickles.  YUMM

That night Brenda and I decided to head to the movie, we ended up seeing The Proposal, only because that was the earliest late movie start time. LOL  You know you’re old when that’s how you pick a movie!    The movie was ok.  It was funny in parts but VERY VERY predictable.  It was just nice to get out of the house for a while on that rainy day.

While we were at the movie, mom started the second puzzle we purchased that day.  By the time we got home she sorted all the pieces and finished the frame.

Matt – I’m happy to report that your Texas Toast has not gone to waste.  My dad has been in heaven making Texas Toast French Toast every day since we got here!!!  Check it out our cottage even had the same grill!

On the first day we went to the beach Noby LOVED the water.  He kept wanting to go deeper and deeper.  Well on that first day he also fell into the water and that was it.  For the rest of our vacation we couldn’t get him to go near the water.  Well leave to to Kathy and my mom, today they got him back into the water and we couldn’t get him to leave!!!

After his nap he even convinced Kelly and Avery to take him in…

Monday night Westerly was having more fireworks at the state beach.  We thought about heading to the beach to watch them but decided against it.  Wouldn’t you know you could see them perfectly from the left side of our desk.  We just moved the chairs from the right side to the left.

First puzzle COMPLETED!!  That’s right mom and I finished our first puzzle in less than 24 hours.  Maybe 500 pieces are just to easy for us, but I like to think we are puzzle experts!! haha

Today was the first official beach day of week 2.  We did go for a couple of hours on Move In Day but that was nothing.  Mom likes to get to the beach around 8:30/9, and we spend the day!

Ichiro and I did take Noby home for lunch and a nap and when I got back look who had joined our little area. Noby was going to be sad that he missed a day at the beach with his friends.

That night we headed over to Kelly’s cottage.  It had been a couple of days and Noby had yet to see his friends.  He was so cute with Avery and Ari, he kept trying to give them hugs and kisses.  Of course I only had the small camera with me and it take so long to take a pictures I kept missing it but here are a few that did (kind of) come out.

While Brenda, Noby and I were off visiting, Kathy, Sarah and mom were at the house starting the next puzzle.  This was another 500 piece puzzle and they really made a dent in it.  After Noby went to bed I started working on it with Mom and guess what…. we finished it!! GO US!

So today was move out day for week one… and move IN day for week two!  We were sad to see the Bajkos and Mahers go, we had such a great time on vacation with them.  We’ve decided that this is going to be a yearly trip, we just need to look for a bigger house next year!!!  Think we can find a 6 bedroom?  So we were sad to see our friends go but also excited to have my family come.  This week will not only be spent with the family but also with the Blackburns and Falconieris. You should have seen Noby’s reaction when he first saw his Memere and Grandpa.  It was too cute!!

So the morning was spent packing our first beach house.  Noby had a great time chilling on the bed watching his video.  That was until Kathy and Glenn came and picked him up for a nice long walk back to their condo.  Man did that make it easier to pack!!

So move in day was easy, we were in and set up in record time.  Special thanks to Kathy and Glenn who helped get everything to the house!!!  Move in day fell on July 4th this year so we were wondering if we were going to be able to see the fireworks from our cottage.  Sure enough on the right side of the house we could see them perfectly from the porch.  We had a little unplanned party for the fireworks.  Kathy, Glenn and Sarah were over to welcome everyone to Westerly and Kelly and the girls stopped by to say Hi and see if we were all settled in.

After everyone left mom and I decided to start our beach puzzle.  Brenda had got mom a beach themed one for Christmas so we thought it would be perfect to start!!

Happy 4th Everyone!

Our last beach day turned out beautiful!!!  We really couldn’t have asked for better weather this week.  Only 1 day of rain… not to bad if you ask me!!  We spent the morning like most other mornings, at the beach.  It such a great day.

That night we gave the kids one last treat and took them to the carousel.  Noby wasn’t to sure about the horses and wouldn’t sit still.  So we decided it would be safer to sit on the bench.  Overall I think he had a great time and if we were to try it again, I think he might sit on one.
