On day 4 the Mommies took a well needed couple of hours and headed to Mohegan Sun for a little pampering.  Matt set us up with the appointments and I have to say that guy knows what he’s doing!!! For over an hour our ten little toes were treated to an experience like nothing else.  This was not your typical pedicure, there were so many steps to it, not to mention the wonderful scrubs and awesome smelling oils.  But I think my favorite part was the hot paraffin treatment.  My feet are still so soft!!  Thanks to Matt for using all his points and hooking us up with such a great afternoon!!

So far, so good!!! This has has to be one of the most relaxing vacations.  Well except for the fact that we are having some children sleeping issues. lol  Both Noby and Bodie just do not like sharing a room.  There is talk about a repeat vacation for next year, only looking for a 5 or 6 bedroom house.  Also yesterday Noby decided that he was going to climb out of his pack n play.  Not good, not good at all.  Right now he’s sleeping on the floor of our bedroom, he’s leaning against the door, passed out. We ended up ordering a crib tent that fits on the pack n play.  It’s made by the same company that made his crib tent we installed at home.  It’s being over-nighted to the cottage, should be here tomorrow.  I can’t wait!!!

Anyway today was beautiful, just beautiful! A perfect beach day!  The kids had such a great time playing in the sun, sand and water!!

There was a TON of packing and unpacking done on Saturday! And after all of organizing we finally made it down to the beach.  It was VERY overcast, but that didn’t stop Noby from wanting to play in the water.  He LOVED it and had NOOO fear of it.  He just wanted to go deeper and deeper!

The past 3 weeks have been a difficult one for our little family.  It all started with being a single mom for a week when Ichiro headed to CA for the his annual Apple Developers Conference.  It was a rough week, but spending a few days at my parents house really helped.  Ichiro got home from CA on Saturday complaining he wasn’t feeling very well.  On Monday, still not feeling good he headed to the doctors office.  Turns out Ichiro had the swine flu.  Now in MA they are no longer testing for the swing flu on a regular basis, however they decided to test Ichiro because 1. he had a young child at home and 2. more importantly he had a pregnant wife at home!!! Ichiro was immediately put on Tamiflu and my OB put me on it too.  Because Noby is a healthy 1 year old his pediatrician told us to just keep him 6 feet away from Ichiro at all time.  HAHA that was joke but we did our best.  The swine flu ended up just being a bad flu.  Ichiro had a fever for most of the week he was home, and a pretty back cough.  Poor guy had to wear a medical make around the house.

Last week had to be the most difficult of the three weeks.  Monday I headed to the OB for a check up.  She decided to use the office ultrasound to see if she could see the baby’s heartbeat.  She had tried the week before but said the baby was hiding from us.  So this week after not being able to see it again she decided she wanted me to go to the Burlington office for an internal ultrasound.  At this point I knew what was happening and the next day my fears came true.  The baby hadn’t developed properly and there was no heartbeat.  They scheduled the D&C for Thursday.

Thursday Ichiro and Noby took me to the Somerville office where they performed the D&C.  It was a long day and I was happy to get home to rest afterwards.  REST?? Not so much, we were leaving in 48 for a 2 week beach vacation and I had SOOO much to do….

I know I’ve haven’t been around alot lately but we just haven’t had much to report.  Ichiro got home on Saturday from CA and came home with the best souvenir ever… a really bad cold. haha  And I greeted him with the cold I got from Westly at Friday’s playgroup.  We’ve been a pretty sad site this week.  I am happy to report that Noby is as healthy as always.  He hasn’t caught either of our colds and is running around like normal.

Today I woke up feeling better than I have all week, so that’s good.  I’m hoping Ichiro starts to feel better soon.  He’s definitely more sick and I just feel really bad for him.  He’s been sleeping in the guest room all week so he doesn’t wake me up coughing all night.

So every Friday I take Noby to a playgroup that is run by our town. When I signed him up I figured it would be another place where Noby can grow and maybe I could meet some other parents in town. So the first few weeks were tough on Noby. It takes him a while to figure out the routine and be comfortable with it. We went through the same thing with the Early Intervention school we go to. Noby also has a hard time sharing, but I think that’s just the age were at.

So last week we go to Friday’s playgroup and Noby is having a hard day. He was up early that morning and I think he was teething again, anyway he was having a hard day. So there is a father that goes to this group with his son. This is the type of guy who has a story for EVERYTHING and usually the story comes out of the blue. It doesn’t relate to anything we are talking about or the kids at all! The type of person that, to me, is just super annoying!! Anyway I have never really talked to him before. We have been to the playgroup for about 4 weeks now and I honestly think I said Hello a couple of times. So he came up to me Friday, right after Noby had a fit about something.

Annoying Father: Hey

Me: Hey

Annoying Father: Is he an only child?

Me: Yup, I guess he doesn’t share very well yet. haha Is Logan your only child?

Annoying Father: Yes he is our only child. You want to know two things that annoy the hell out of me?

Me: (Only half listening to him) Huh?

Annoying Father: Small yipping dogs and kids that whine all the time. I prayed to God that my kid wasn’t going to be like that.

Me: WHAT? (processing what he just said) I’m SORRY my child has some issues and his crying ANNOYS you.

Annoying Father: That… that… that’s not what I mean….

This is when I picked Noby up and walked across the room. WHO says that to someone!!! Sure you might think it but come on who actually says that to a mother who clearly is having a hard time with her son every time she goes to playgroup.

WTF! I wanted to just pick Noby up and walk out all together.

For the rest of the time we were there he kept trying to come up to me to talk but I just walked away or changed activities with Noby so I didn’t need to be near him.

So this week I was dreading going to group. I really just didn’t want to see that father again. I was SOO happy to find out that he wasn’t there this week.

Noby starts playing with his favorite toys during free play and I notice that Westly is also trying to play with the same thing. Not a big deal, but as I look closer Westly has GREEN SNOT POURING OUT OF HIS NOSE!!! POURING!!!! I heard the teacher say SEVERAL times to the mother “Does Westly need a tissue?” And she didn’t do anything, she just let his nose run. I tried to pull Noby away but of course he wanted to play with his favorite toy. The teacher commented on Westly needing a tissue a few more times and all I could think of was Noby and I getting sick. I almost stood up to get that kid a tissue.

WTF, what is wrong with parents? Why would you bring your child to a free playgroup when it’s clear he’s sick!!!

And wouldn’t you know Saturday I woke up with a sore throat! UGH

This past Saturday was my cousin Liane’s Day! Noby and I were so excited to be able to celebrate with her!! Liane is getting married in October to a wonderful man name Rich. They are such a cute couple and we couldn’t be more excited for her! Saturday while all the girls had a shower for Liane, all the guys went golfing with Rich. Afterward we all met up at my uncle’s house for an after party! One thing about our family is…. We know how to party!! It was such a great day and just proves that the wedding is going to be a blast!!!

Congratulations Liane and Rich, we can’t wait to celebrate with you in October!!!
