So many of you have heard my story of Sunday breakfast with Ichiro. Skip ahead if you’ve heard this, I need to fill everyone else in.
So Sunday we went to breakfast at our usual breakfast place, Dembsy. We now have to sit at the counter because I can no longer fit in the booths (I wouldn’t normally share this embarrassing fact but it’s part of the story). So we’re sitting at the counter waiting for our eggs and pancakes, doing some great people watching. Anyway we all know know that Ichiro can not sit through a meal without some type of techie interaction, so he breaks out his phone. He start checking out the calendar, here I sit half watching and listening to him and half watching the weird lady across from counter. So he reads his calendar, “Tuesday-Bowling, Wednesday-a contract gig, (I look down to the phone and see BECKY”)Thursday-Oops you can’t see that!” So he hides the phone. ME: “WHAT, WHAT the hell does that say?? WHY is my name in your phone??” So he password protects his entry and I SEE NOTHING!! Now I’m mad and eat in silence.
So that was Sunday and for the next few days I continued to ask Ichiro what plans we had during the week. He didn’t fall for it. So today at work I again tried to ask him if we had plans for the night. He said “NO and stop asking.” I didn’t like that answer so now I start thinking bad things…”Is is about your EX girlfriend Becky??” I think at that point Ichiro stopped talking to me. So I dropped it.
Well my story has a happy ending, after my Thursday Planner Staff Meeting, Erika and I were walking the long way back to my office (through the cafe) and as I turn the corner, I see…. ICHIRO?? my planning group and the entire PI group… a cake and gifts?? IT WAS A SHOWER FOR ME!!!! I couldn’t believe it, they got me. I had no idea!! Of course I turned bright red, had no idea what to do, it was all overwhelming for me. I can’t thank everyone enough for how generous they were. We will definitely be able to buy the remaining items we need at Babies R Us!!!!
Speaking of buying things…. Tonight Ichiro and I purchased our crib and dresser for the babies room. I can’t wait for it to come in. We got the finish in cherry, check it out…
Before I ordered the dresser and crib I made Ichiro take me to the Baby Warehouse. I just wanted to price that stuff out too. Anyway we found the best night light for the baby’s room. It’s a stuffed turtle that illuminates the consolations on the wall. It does it in either blue, green or amber. Of course we got home and needed to try it out. Here are a few pictures.
