Super Bowl Sunday!

Posted by Becky  Published in Uncategorized

Sunday, Keith and Megan and Jo, Shawn and the kids came over for a last minute Super Bowl Party.  It was very relaxed.  The kids were able to play in the toy room while the adults ate and watched the game in the living room! hahaha  As most of you know, I love to have people over and usually overdue it.  This year would be no different.  Sunday morning I made taco dip, both a small vegetarian one and the regular meat one, mom’s famous soy sauce chicken wings, and the best brownie/cookie dessert ever!  I also had Mexican Flautas, chip and dip and cut up veggies.  Not everything made it to the table because our guests came with boneless buffalo chicken and the best buffalo chicken dip! Mmmmmm

So I found the dessert recipe a while ago and just needed an excuse to try it.  There was NO way I could make this dessert and leave it in the house, alone with me ALL day long.  Ichiro would come home to an empty pan and a wife with a wicked bad stomach ache.  The Super Bowl would be a perfect excuse to make it AND I could send leftovers home with our guests!!

When I originally found the Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Brownie recipe on the Betty Crocker website I had plans to omit the chocolate frosting.  People that know me know that I’m not a fan of frosting.  Weird, I know, but I never liked it.  Growing up my mom would leave a couple cupcakes unfrosted, she has even been known to leave the corner of the cake frosting free.  My mom is the best!

A few weeks ago the recipe was highlighted on Bakerella‘s website.  And guess what!!! She omitted the can frosting and added Chocolate Ganache!!!   (I’ve become a HUGE fan of chocolate ganache through all the AWESOME Lisa Original Cakes!!!  She has converted me!!!) So when the last minute Super Bowl Party came about I decided I needed to try the new and improved recipe!!!

Here are a few pictures from Bakerella‘s website, I forgot to take pictures, OOPS!

Now you can either frost them OR make Bakerella's AWESOME Chocolate Ganache! I totally recommend that! (picture taken from the Bakerella website)

Once the ganache has set completely, cut and enjoy! SOOO GOOD!!
