So last week while Ichiro and I cleaned for my mom’s visit we purged all the kitchen cabinets. It was great to toss things we haven’t used in so long. While we did this I washed the outside of all the cabinets, they were looking dirty and dull. Well my cleaning didn’t really make a difference. They were clean but still looked dirty and dull. While out with Noby I found my new favorite product!!!
Old English, I love you!
It was hard to take pictures but I think you can tell that they look 100 times better!!! Only wish I got this done BEFORE my mom came!!!

So much more shinny!!!
Ok it’s sad how excited I got over this! I guess I’m old, but honestly it looks like a brand new kitchen!!!
So last night Brenda and I had a Girls Night!! I guess I have had a few of these lately, THANKS ICHIRO!!! Anyway we started the night off at PF Chang’s for some VERY yummy drinks and food.
Then we made our way to the Opera House. We found our seats and were ready, I had such HIGH hopes for the show. Maybe because I had just seen Chorus Line and that show was more than fantastic!
The first act was good, taken exactly from the movie, like EVERY scene! They had EVERY memorable line from the movie, with lots and lots of scene changes. The second half seemed LONG and with several corny parts. Again they tried to get every little detail of the movie into the show. The sets were amazing, I’ll give them that, and I was so impressed with how it kept changing. I was also impressed with the dancers. I do however feel that they were a little bit held back thoughout the show. The last scene was the best. It was like they were told they could do whatever they wanted. I guess my real problem was I just didn’t think it was a legitimate musical. Only about 3 people sang in the show and more than half the music was recorded. Baby and Johnny do not sing a line in the show!!! What kind of musical is that?? I expected the show to follow the story line of the movie except I thought it would have some of it’s own music, the character singing. But nope, not even a little, it was just a live version of the movie. I wanted to walk away being WOWed and I just didn’t. It was good, but it could have been so much better!!
So for the entire last scene when Johnny runs in and says the famous line “No one puts Baby in the corner,” then they start to do the dance, I kept thinking about how I just knew our friends could do it so much better. The guy playing Johnny almost didn’t get the last lift up!!! Nothing like our friends!!!
That’s right people, I’m sitting in my Orch Left Center seat, row O, in the Boston Opera House waiting for Dirty Dancing to begin!!! What a girls night! Thanks Brenda!!
Thursday night my mom took the bus from Springfield to downtown Boston, where I was waiting for her at South Station. It was so great to have her come visit!! By the time we got to the house it was late, so Thursday night we had quiet night at the house, just hung out and had some tacos. Friday, Mom, Noby and I did a little shopping, but made it back to the house for nap time. It was so great to just hang out and have no real plans or time schedule. Friday night, Ichiro watched Noby while we had a Girls Night!! Brenda, Mom and I went out for some dinner and drinks then headed over to Brenda’s place for a little scrapbooking!
Saturday Aunt Judee drove up from CT to visit her son Shane for his birthday. We all met up at the Sunset Grill for some yummy lunch. Ichiro gave Shane our signature gift!!
We LOVE Domo!
After lunch we headed over to the Museum of Science. But it was SOOO crowded and hot and crowded and hot that we didn’t end up staying that long. Thank God we are members of the museum so it didn’t cost of anything to get in. WHY do we always seem to end up at the museums during the weekend of school vacation week??? I realize that I didn’t take any pictures that day. Mom took a few of Noby in the toddle section before he got two handed pushed to the floor and I got hit in the face with a ball. At that point I said it was time to leave! As we walked around Ichiro managed to take one picture of our visit. haha
It was so much fun to have mom and Aunt Judee come visit! It was relaxing and stressfree, well once the house was cleaned! haha We want to do it again soon, maybe a Girls Crafting weekend!!!
Yesterday Noby and I got some great looking strawberries at the market. This morning he practices signing “strawberries.” He was doing great but kept refusing to put them down. LOL
So as everyone knows Ichiro and I have always had a hard time agreeing on coffee tables. Thanks goodness he didn’t see this one before we order our new one. I would have totally had to put my foot down!!!!
Because I was sick all week and Noby and I didn’t really leave the house, by Friday we had exhausted all our normal fun activities. We were desperate but ended up with some pretty exciting “games.”
The “Lets Walk in Daddy’s Slippers” Game:
Noby of course was doing very well at this game, until I ran to get the camera. Game Over! haha
The “Look Mom, Even Though You Moved the Foot Bench So I Couldn’t Climb Over The Arm Of the Couch, I Can Still Do It,” Game:
He was just so proud of himself. And we played this game, again and again and again!
I’ve been sick all week! A head cold with a cough and body aches, hot and cold flashes, basically just not fun. I’ve felt bad that I haven’t been able take Noby anywhere this week. He misses all his friends! So today, with the nice weather, the two of us headed to the park to get some fresh air. The trip didn’t last to long because 1. I was so weak and couldn’t stop coughing and 2. Noby found a puddle that he loved running through. He loved the sound of the splashing and laughed every time he moved. But eventually sat down in it! hahahaha At that point we headed home to change!
