Today we headed down to Unionville for Mr. Bodies Baptism. Bodie was a perfect angel in church, half of the time he just snoozed in Mommy’s arms. After mass we all headed back to Sarah and Matt’s house for a little luncheon. It was wonderful to see their family and be able to hang with the Mahers and Bajkos. We didn’t break out the camera till late, everyone else had left. But the boys were playing together and we just had to capture the moment!
Noby is giving a lecture on duck sounds
What’s a lecture without a demonstration. Noby showing Bodie how to push the buttons to hear the duck.
Bodie is going to be a great student! I can see him taking mental notes on how to do it.
Actually I think he is thinking,”Why won’t this kid leave me alone!”
Today Keith and Megan invited us to join them in Boston Common for the Life Is Good festival. The festival is a huge fund-raising event that benefits charities that create a lasting positive impact on children facing unfair challenges, including the trauma of violence and poverty. There was live music and fun activities that were free all day long. They made money by selling food (like peanut butter and jelly sandwiches or pumpkin pie) and tons of merchandise, where 100% of the money went to the Life is Good Kids Foundation. Some of the exciting activities that were going on were Watermelon Seed Spitting, Whiffle Ball Home Run Derby, Bocce, Sack Races, Obstacle Courses, Hula Hooping, Speed Pitch, and much much more! There was also a full kid section with face painting and art projects, we kept saying that we can’t wait for Noby to be a little older. It’s going to be so much fun to do this stuff with him.
Chilling in the shade, it was a HOT one!
Keith trying out the Speed Pitch. What did you get again????
Life is Good!
Everyone could sign this huge baseball…
Later it was used as a HUGE beach ball… but watch out!!!
It was a HOT one, they had this great sprinkler hooked up to the fire hydrant.
Awww what a cute couple!
Keith loves this band, the Robert Randolph and the Family Band.
Today is Ichiro’s thirty-something birthday! Even though he is in his thirties, he is still a BIG kid at heart. The moment I heard about the show going on at the Garden I knew it would be right up Ichiro’s alley. Last night Brenda came over to watch Noby while Ichiro and I went to the Garden to see Walking with Dinosaurs! It was amazing!! The size of the dinosaurs were so impressive. We had row 6 seats which just happened to be front row, they blocked the first 5 rows. Here are a few pictures from the show, but honestly they don’t do it justice!
Self portrait before the show.
Huxley, the paleontologist who guides us though the show.
T-Rex!! You can kind of tell how big he is, look at Huxley in the back ground.
Here’s another one that shows his size.
Torosaurus, is a social creature who will happily graze on vegetation.
This is a picture of the vegetation.
These little guys are Utahraptor, they are pack hunters with a 15 cm toe claws.
The Ornithocheirus, with a maximum wing span of 40 feet, is the largest creature to ever have wings.
My favorite of the dinosaurs were the Brachiosaurus. Here you see the mom looking after her baby.
Cooking with Becky Ichiro! We had TONS of extra sauce this week so we decided to try something new. Noby and I got some pizza dough and tonight we would attempt pizza/calzones.
Ichiro making the pizza. YES he makes it backwards… and YES those are jalapenos!
When we got home from the beach on Saturday, Noby had a package waiting for him. It was from his Oobarba (great-grandma) and the contents were just beautiful. Check out his new Kimono!
Here are a couple more beach pictures that Kelly sent me from her camera. I thought they were cute and needed to be added. I also forgot to tell you that Noby took 3 steps at the beach!!!! I was behind him while he walked towards Memere. It was so hard not to scream in excitement as I watched him go!!
I can’t even begin to tell you how many shots we had to take to get this one picture. Even in this one Ari isn’t looking. Both Ari and Noby would turn away as Stephen was about to take the picture. LOL
Here’s a cute one of Avery and Hannah. Hannah became Avery’s BFF as they played all day in the sun.
So I totally forgot to post some VERY exciting news! On July 4th, during fireworks everywhere, our great friends Jed and Marcy welcomed their beautiful little girl to the world. Maya was two weeks early and stilled weighed in at 7 pounds and 20 inches long. Maya was named after the region in Mexico that Jed and Marcy (and Ichiro and I) were married in, the Mayan Riviera. We are so excited for Jed and Marcy, they are such wonderful people and we know they will make amazing parents.
The beautiful little Maya. We just love sleeping babies!
I love this picture of Jed and Maya. She is so cute holding Daddy’s nose!
Today was a our last at the beach. We spent the morning packing, cleaning and heading home. Thanks to Kathy who came over to help us this morning!!! As promised, here are a few more pictures from the week. Enjoy!
(Note: This is the 3rd attempt to write this blog, every night when I sit down to write it I fall asleep. So because Noby got up at 7 this morning, and Memere is reading him books right now I figure I might be able to finish it.)
We are having such an amazing time here at the beach. My original plan was to try to post every day but really we haven’t had much to say. Each day happens pretty much the same… (OH yeah and I keep falling asleep as I try to post.)
1. We wake up. – Now this time varies every day. For example the first night Mr Noby decided he was done sleeping at 4 am, at 5 that day we got up and went for a walk, we didn’t want to wake up the entire house. Other days he has slept till 6 and one day 7, but nothing like the 8:30/9 like at home, and here he gets up SEVERAL times a night. 🙁
2. Mom and I try to work on the puzzle. We are already on the second puzzle!!! We have now finished the second one!
3. Brenda makes us breakfast, she’s so good she makes special orders. So much so that my dad even made a song for her. “You can get anything you want, at Brenda’s restaurant!”
4. We all get ready for the beach.
5. Kathy (with or without kids) arrive.
6. Head to the beach, this has been mostly around 10ish.
7. Set up at the beach. Pretty much the say way every day; Noby’s pack n play against the fence, my chair, Kathy, Mom, Brenda, the two umbrellas, and the blanket. With coolers, bags and toys in between. Now this varies too because some days there are alot more people; The Hansens, the Ashiharas, the Blackburns, the Gardockis, and the Falconieris. We have had as low as 6 people and as high as 17 people! We owned the beach that day!!
8. We spend the entire day on the beach, coming back to the house only to make some lunches. It has been great to have the cottage so close, if we forget anything we can just run back to the house, lunches are always fresh, and it’s easy enough to do a half a day at the beach because you can just walk back if you want.
9. When we get back from the beach we give Noby a bath in his little swimming pool, then we all take showers and clean off.
10. Then we start dinner. We had dinners planned for the week, plus special nights like Taco Night with the Gardockis, Dinner at the Blackburns and 1 Great Meal Out.
11. After dinner, we work on the puzzle, read books, play a little Wii, try to write blogs, until we all fall asleep and do it all again the next day. What a life.
Here are a few of my favorite pictures from the week…
