The forecast was iffy, so Thursday we decided to take a break from the beach and head up to Provincetown for a little shopping. The weather turned out just perfect and we were able to enjoy a unbelievable outside lunch, some ridiculous drinks, and some humorous shopping!!!
Noby in front of the Provincetown Theatre sign.
Shopping at Marc Jacobs!
Ichiro working again! hahaha
Making a donation, we were trying to flip coins into the green bowls.
The Ocean Side is much better than the Bay Side, so there was NO question that we wanted to head to the Ocean Side again on Wednesday. We skipped the beach with the shuttle and knew the lot would be FULL at the Nauset Light Beach. We really enjoyed Marconi Beach on the first day so we headed back there. Wouldn’t you know when we finally made it there the lot was FULL!!! That lot was HUGE, I couldn’t believe it was full. Anyway we started calling Cape Cod Experts who could help us find another beach. Keith was on the phone talking to Bob, his mother’s boyfriend and Ichiro was on the phone with our good friend Andy. Andy suggested checking out Nauset Beach out in Orleans. He explained that this beach is not run by the government so they can open stores and snack shops. He also said the lot was HUGE and we shouldn’t have to worry. Andy was right, this beach was great!!! The lot was huge, the tide was in, the snack shop made a mean onion ring! We had a great time at this beach and plan to head back this week.
Noby working on his tan!
Noby taking it all in.
We were talking to the water in this picture.
He was so brave, only wanting to hold one hand!
OHHHHH DID I TELL YOU…..
Noby is walking!!!!
He is such a big boy now!!! When concentrating he can walk across he room!!!
Tuesday we decided to try the Bay Side of the Cape. Keith said the water would be warmer and no real waves. He said Noby would love it! hahaha WELL we showed up at the beach and nothing.. no water at all!!! The tide was out, WAY out! You seriously had to walk a mile to get to the water, it was crazy!!! Only Keith made it out there, when he got back he was NOT happy. He said you walk a mile and only get water to your knees. It never got deep. We didn’t end up taking any pictures at the beach that day. It was hot, the sand was VERY HOT, and there was no water. No one was really loving it. To keep you all happy I’m adding a few random pictures from the week… Enjoy!
Isn’t he just the perfect beach baby!!
Keith and Bodie just chilling on the deck.
Ichiro is actually working in this picture, what a great job you can work from the beach!!
In this picture Noby is watching his favorite video, Baby Signing Time. Ichiro figure out that if he put it under the clear tote he couldn’t be able to press the keys and stop the video. It worked out perfectly!!
Every time we needed to distract Noby we would start the video. He couldn’t keep his eyes off of it!
I know I am back blogging but hey we have been very busy here at the Cape!! Monday was our first day at the beach. We wanted to kick of the beach days with the Ocean Side of the Cape. We headed to the Coast Guard Beach, which is right down the street from our house. We noticed that you had to take a shuttle from the parking lot to the beach and figured that might not be easy with all the gear we had. We drove down a little further and came upon Nauset Light Beach. We quickly realized that finding a beach might be a little difficult, the lot had been full for hours. We headed north on Rt 6 to the Marconi Beach, plenty of parking and no shuttle! Fantastic! The beach was beautiful, no houses in site. These beaches are ran by the government so there is no stores, no little stands, just beautifully maintained beaches.
“I love the beach, I love the beach!”
Noby was so tired from all his playing. (you can see the beautiful background behind us. No houses just tall sand dunes!)
I love it when he sleeps on me!
That night we headed to the Lobster Shanty for some YUMMY dinner!! I think I could eat this EVERY day!
Poor Mr. Lobster.
Yummy food and Yummy drinks… More More More!!
Even Noby loved the Lobster Shanty.
That night, with no TV, we worked on the puzzle…
Hard at work.
Ohhh yeah we might have drank a little too…
In the end we finished a 1000 piece puzzle in 1 day!!!! GO US!
When we got up on Sunday the weather didn’t look promising. We would have loved to head to the beach but it didn’t look like it was going to be nice. We decided to head to the mall to pick up a few things we forgot. We also thought we would get a couple more Wii remotes, cause what would a vacation be with out some 4 player Mario Kart. On the way home from the mall the weather turned, the skies were getting even more dark and you could smell the rain in the air. The girls decided to run to the grocery store to get bread, milk and water. haha OK we just picked up stuff for dinner. As we start to cook dinner the rain slowly starts… by the time we were finished the thunder and lightning was on top of us. I have no idea how Noby and Bodie slept through it all. At one point lightning hit right out side the window, everyone jumped!! Ichiro was actually video taping so I’m sure you will see it on the site soon. Anyway it blew the tv out. I don’t mean just turned it off, I mean it made a huge POP and didn’t work anymore. You should have seen the guys, so much for the Wii Olympics. While the guys snuggled on the couch to watch a DVD on Ichiro’s laptop, the girls started the puzzle we purchased that day at the mall. Here are a few pictures from the day…
Chilling on the deck!
Could you believe it, Matt told me that Noby just climbed on the roof. Good thing Matt was there to help him down! hahaha
Noby and Bodie had matching outfits on!!!
Waiting for Nacho Night!
Nacho night!
Well stocked fridge! We moved all the stuff to the drawer to make room for the beer! Beer of choice for the vacation??? Bud Lite Lime! YUMMY
Saturday morning we packed the car and headed down to the Cape. We had planned to leave at 7am but I’m sure you can guess that it never happened. We finally made it on the road by 10, only 3 hours past the original departure time. It didn’t end up being a big deal, we hit a little traffic but nothing crazy.
Sitting in bumper to bumper traffic waiting to cross the bridge.
Are we there yet??
We were not able to check in until 3 pm, however we headed down so early because Matt, Sarah and Bodie were there waiting for us. They were on the Cape the week before and planned to stay a couple of extra days to hang out. They too were not able to check in till 3 however the hotel they were staying at had an indoor pool we were able to hang out at.
Here we are with our boys.
Noby’s first time in a swimming pool.
That night we started the Wii Olympics. Megan surprised us all but taking the gold in Mega Pin Bowling!!
Well Inu is finally back to normal. As many of you know Inu went to the Spa while we were at the beach. We thought he was having a wonderful time. The email and picture they sent during the week told us he was such a happy guy and everyone just loved him. Well of course when we get home Inu starts having bloody diarrhea. We originally thought it was just a food change but it just wasn’t getting better. I finally took him to the vet (sat there for 2.5 hours with Noby) and was told it could be a number of things. We did a couple of tests and put him on meds and a special diet. Looks like it was just the stress of being boarded. Well I am happy to say that Inu is finally better!!! Just in time to head to Memere’s house tomorrow!
The picture the Spa sent us on vacation! Doesn’t he look happy??
I know you are all wondering how the Crib Rail Cover Project is coming along. (OK no one has really asked but I thought I would share anyway.) After a few set backs, the needle kept breaking and the string kept knotting up, we are making great progress! (Thanks to Ichiro!!!) Here are a few teaser pictures.
Today my baby is 10 months old. I can’t believe that its been 10 months! It feels like the entire adventure started yesterday. Yet at the same time it’s hard to remember life without Noby.
I almost forgot to show you my favorite shwag item we got at the Life is Good festival. They were giving away so much stuff but this by far is my favorite…
What is it?? You can’t tell?? It’s a….
Peanut Butter Jelly Stick!!!!!
You use one side to peanut butter your bread, then the other to jelly it!!!
