So Noby and I started working on the painting part of the train today. I ended up stopping because I wasn’t 100% happy with it. I am a perfectionist when it comes to stuff like this and this train will NOT be perfect. Not at all. I showed Ichiro what I did today and he said it shouldn’t be perfect, that it looked great. So I guess tomorrow Noby and I will continue on. As you can tell we are only on the base colors, detail work will be later.

So tonight Niels and Rebecca invited us to their annual Chili Cook-Off, it was such a fun night.  Everyone was asked to bring a pot of their favorite chili.  The chili was numbered and given a name.  The plan was to try each of the chili and then cast 3 votes.  You could vote for your top 3 or put all your vote for one chili, it was entirely up to you.  Of course I forgot the camera, so I don’t have any pictures of the 9 different chili that people made.  But here are some highlights… there was a wonderfully HOT vegetarian chili, a Thanksgiving Chili (it had a pumpkin taste to it), a OUTSTANDING white chili (haha that was mine),  and several others, some hot some sweet.  It was such a great idea for a cold night in November.

So this was our first night out since Noby came into our lives.  I was very nervous on how I would be leaving him, even for the few hours.  We all know it didn’t go well the weekend of Keith’s wedding.  But I knew Noby would be fine with Auntie Brenda.  It turned out wonderful, Noby cried a little but nothing Auntie Brenda couldn’t handle.

At the Chili Cook-off, Rebecca gave out awards for not only the top chili but special achievements too.  You can totally tell Rebecca is a teacher!  Ichiro and I won a Special Achievement award for leaving Noby for the first time.  We also tied for 2nd place on our chili!!!!

That’s the question Ann had to answer. Ann and Brenda went to Bay Path together, they were roommates for a couple of years (i think!). Anyway she won the Fab 5 radio contest in NH, where she and 4 friends received a $1000 mall gift cards to spend in 95 minutes.

It was so exciting to see everyone run around the mall trying to spend the $5000!

When Matt and Katie use to visit, it would be a night filled with partying. WOW how times have changed, today Matt and Katie came down to meet Noby. It was so nice to hang out with them again. It’s been WAY to long!!!

So today Noby and I worked on his bedroom. We touched up the blue and green paint and traced the train on to the wall. Tomorrow we should start the painting!!! Maybe his room will be done by the time he turns one! haha

So I’m not sure what Ichiro was doing but he took several pictures of Noby’s eyes tonight. I’m sorry to say but it looks like Noby will have his dad’s eyebrows too!!

Last week, at Lizzy’s house, we had coffee with french vanilla creamer.  We got on the subject of how Noby and I leave the house for Starbuck runs.  Lizzy brought me back to reality and I decided I would start making coffee at home.  When I went to get some French Vanilla creamer I found this, I LOVE IT.  Makes my coffee taste better than a Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte.  Thanks Lizzy! 😉

So last summer you might remember me talking about my “practice” hike up Mt. Moosilauke. This was the trip Jo and Shawn took me on to get ready for our 3 day hike.

Well that day on top of the mountain I stood in one spot and spun around taking pictures all the way around. I had seen Ichiro do this before and I knew he could photoshop them together. Well this week Ichiro is taking a three day Photoshop class. He practiced some of his new skills on my Mt. Moosilauke photos.

Remember a few months ago, after the Japan trip, I attempted to cook Ichiro some tempura. It didn’t turn out but Ichiro was nice and ate it anyway. It turns out I purchased the wrong batter and had the oil WAY to hot. While in NY, Yoko gave us the right batter and even an electric wok. Tonight we tried again.

Perfection! YUMMY!!

Saturday was such a fun day.  Keith and Megan did such a magnificent job planning every detail of their wedding.  Down to the last detail, everything was perfect.
