Tonight Matt and Katie hosted the first, of many, I hope, Couples Bunko Game Night!! We had a blast!!! I wasn’t sure how to describe Bunko. I was going to say it was a dice game, almost like Yahtzee but really it was nothing like Yahtzee. So I decided to check out if there was a Wikipedia page. Wikipedia says, “Bunko is a social dice game involving 100% luck and no skill (there are no decisions to be made),[3] scoring and a simple set of rules. Women who are part of a Bunko club take turns as the Bunko hostess, providing snacks, refreshments and the tables to set up the games. The hostess may also provide a door prize. Small amounts of money can be involved as well. The object of the game is to accumulate points and to roll certain combinations. The winners get prizes (provided by the hostess or pooled from the club resources) for accomplishments such as the highest score, the lowest score, or the most bunkos.”
We really had a great night! This is a perfect game for a big group of friends. Like Wikipedia says, there is no skill involved, all luck. No one has to feel like they don’t know trivia or can’t draw. Everyone is on the same skill level. This is also a great game because you are continuously moving tables and sitting with other people.
We can’t thank Matt and Katie enough for hosting tonight!!! Ichiro and I had an awesome night out!!
Bunko score card…
Action shot!
Of course there might have been a little beer and wine involved! lol
Ray, the big winner of the night!!!

Five shots, a finger stick, a hearing test and a eye vision test later, we are finally home. It was a rough end to the very LONG doctors appointment for Noby’s 4 year check up. Let’s not forgot that I thought this would be a good time to get Koji’s 2nd flu shot! Note to self, Do Not Plan A 4 Year Old Check Up When You Have A Second Child With You and definitely don’t get that second child a shot!!
Before all the fun begins…

It was BEAUTIFUL out today! I wanted the boys to get out so instead of running home after school, we ran to the park!! I had a great time watching Koji follow Noby around the entire park. He wanted to do everything his big brother was doing. It was adorable!
Monkey see, monkey do…
WELL, try to do!

Tonight we celebrate the birth of my dad!! That’s right, my mom invited Brenda, Grandma, Pepere, Ichiro the boys and I to join her and Dad for a birthday dinner! It turned out to be a really fun night, filled with family, great conversation and yummy food!
After dinner we headed over to Pepere’s house for some cake, coffee and a few gifts!

So this week was pretty stressful for the fact that it was hard talking to my parents. I worry about them, it’s my nature. Even though Ichiro and Ryan set up the generator on Monday and I knew they had heat, I still worried. Before the storm I knew I talked to mom often. Sometimes it’s a couple times a day, but you never really realized how much you talk until you can’t talk anymore. No phone, no cell, no iChat, no email, it was just weird! haha I was so happy when they finally got power back!
So Dad’s birthday is next week and we’ve had plans to all go out to dinner in CT to celebrate. When my parents lost power it was up in the air if we would still go out or postpone it to a later date. Well since everyone that was attending got their power back and the restaurant had their power back we decided to still have the party.
Today after Noby’s school we jumped right in the car and headed down to CT. Ichiro has been in NY for a few days working in his dad’s office so we didn’t have to wait for him. The plan is, if he finishes everything in time he will meet us up in CT.
Our drive to CT was pretty uneventful expect for the fact that I was in AWWW about how many trees were down. I couldn’t believe it! Trees looks like they just snapped like toothpicks. The entire ride home I kept saying I wish I had my camera out. When I pulled into my parents I was shocked! Trees down, sticks everywhere and even the chicken coop had collapsed under the snow!
