So Monday morning I woke up around 4:30 am in pain. Lots of pain. It was on my left side and I had no idea what to do. The night before Ichiro and I ate a bunch of trail mix and caramel candies right before bed and I thought it HAD to be that. I ended up coming downstairs for some Pepto but nothing seemed to help. I curled up in a ball and fell asleep. The next morning when Ichiro’s alarm went off I told him. He asked me what the pain felt like and all I could say was “nothing like I had ever left before.” I was feeling better but still a little uncomfortable. Normally I would just blow something like this off but something told me not to brush this off. I called the doctor. I thought I could run in, Ichiro would watch the kids. I’d see the doctor, she would tell me I ate to much before bed, then I would come home and drive Ichiro to work. That’s NOT exactly how everything went.
I did call my doctor and she didn’t have any openings but they DID say a different doctor could see me at 9:30. While I went Ichiro DID watch the boys and that’s about all I got right. At the doctors Dr Ken started to ask me some questions, he poked around my stomach, and he said it DEFINITELY was NOT the trail mix! haha The funny part about him poking around my stomach was the pain had moved. It was no longer on my left side, it was now on my right side. The doctor said that was concerning and that I needed to go for a CAT scan. While they called the hospital to set it up, I headed downstairs to the lab for some blood work. By the time I got back, I think the entire Medford elderly community was there for blood work, I was in pain again. I curled up on exam table and waited for instructions on what to do.
They gave me directions to the hospital and off I went. On the way I had to pull over at a gas station because I thought I was going to be sick. I got to the hospital, registered and headed to radiology. Once I got there they gave me a funky fruit punch drink. The nurse explained I had to slowly drink it over the next hour, then wait an hour before the test. I got sick twice but managed to finish the drink. By this time, Brenda had heard the news and headed over to watch the boys so Ichiro could come find me at the hospital. It was so nice to have him there, he calms me!
The test was fast and painless and we waited for the results. Soon the doctor came out and said I had a VERY angry looking appendix and that it needed to be taken out. He took us down to the Emergency room and we waited there to be checked in and see the nurses. Around 10 they moved us into a ER room and we waited to talk to the surgeon. Finally around 11 pm they rolled me into surgery. I sent Ichiro home to be with the boys. There was no reason for him to sit at the hospital any longer. The doctor called him when he finished.
The next thing I remember, I was in recovery. It all happened so fast. In the morning I was released and Ichiro came with the boys to pick me up. It all happened so quickly and I was very happy to be heading home.
Here I am waiting to see the doctor, I’m iChating with Noby on my iPhone!

Noby was invited to his first Holiday party this weekend! His friends from EI, his old “school,” got together to celebrate. They had a great time playing, eating, doing crafts and decorating cookies!! Here’s a few pictures from the afternoon.
Decorating trees…
Licking the strips of paper for a count down chain…
Noby was more into eating the cookies then decorating them…

He’s in a Big Boy Bed!! Nooooo, not Noby, but Koji! Koji’s been sleeping in the bassinet part of the Bugaboo. He didn’t like the original bassinet we got him so he was sleeping in the stroller. He’s outgrown that, so we ended up borrowing Joanna and Shawn’s co-sleeper. The first night Koji was in it he slept for 5 hours!!!! It was AWESOME!
The before…
And after…
Doesn’t he look happy!!!!

I HEART Christmas! Everyone knows that! And this year I couldn’t be more excited to have Christmas in Boston! I feel very lucky and blessed that my family is willing to change our traditions, so that my kids can wake up here Christmas morning! This will be the first year Noby understands the magic of Santa. I can’t wait for him to experience coming downstairs Christmas morning, in his own house, to see what Santa left him. BUT even more then that I want him to remember this time of year with the fondness that I remember growing up with. For the month of December, all though New Years our house was decorated to the T! It was such a magical time, the house was always festive and just made you happy! I want both Noby and Koji to experience that here and this week I had to get my butt in gear on making that happen!
Most people decorate the same way every year and there’s nothing wrong with that. But this year I knew I needed to change things up. It was going to be a big year and I want it to be perfect! We wanted to move our tree into the living room, I needed to buy stockings and find a place to hang them. I love coming up with new projects and this year we made a new hallway curtain and place to hang the stockings! I heart Christmas!!!

Sunday Ichiro and I took the boys to the car show. We try to go every year, it’s fun to walk around and check out all the cars we can’t afford! haha No really it was a great time. Noby enjoyed climbing in and out of cars and Koji enjoyed being pushed around, while he slept the day away! So I was excited to go because I really wanted to see all the cars with a third row in them. My only prerequisite for a new car is that it has a third row AND that with the third row up, I can still fit my double stroller. Ends up that’s going to be harder then I thought. Alot of the cars, when the third row is up has NO trunk space.
Here I am, begging Ichiro for this $87,000 car! I still want it!
My boys…
Pushing Koji around in style…
Ohhh I wouldn’t mind this car either…
Over kill? This thing was HUGE!
Check out the trunk!
Teaching Noby how great VW is…
And Jeeps…
Still sleeping…
Ichiro made me sit in this mini van….

So this week the cabinets were bare. I needed to go grocery shopping but first needed to give the kids lunch. I searched around and found English muffins in the freezer, cheese and sauce! You know what that meant, English Muffin Pizzas!! I was so excited because, come on, who doesn’t like English Muffin Pizzas! Knowing pizza is actually one of the items Noby will eat, I was more then happy to think we could have a new food to eat in this house!! I took out all the stuff and started to toast the English Muffins. As I did that Noby was eating the cheese from the bowl, sticking his fingers in the sauce and eating that. I KNEW we would be making these again. We had a great time putting the pizzas together. I left him do everything! We talked about how yummy they were going to be. Wouldn’t you know once he got that cooked pizza in front of him he said YUCK and refused to eat it! Next time he will get a cup of sauce and cheese on the side! haha
Eating the cheese as he waited…
This is him licking it, that was the best I could do!
