Our little backyard is coming together. I love having the play area for Noby and we’ve been out there everyday this week. And everyday, I’ve had to pick up trash that comes under the fence from the apartment building behind us. My mom suggesting finishing the back of my garden with cinder blocks. If you remember back to when we evened out the yard I put two cinder blocks in the corner of the yard, and filled in the back with rocks we found in the yard. The blocks also covered a little metal pipe that came up in the yard, we weren’t really sure what the pipe is for and we couldn’t remove it. My mom also suggested growing hosta in the cinder blocks. I guess my Memere and Pepere did this at their old house, near the pool. I vaguely remember that, but can also see it in my mind.
So today I busted my butt to start putting these cinder blocks in. It was a lot harder then I thought because the old owners of the house must have had the same problem and put HUGE rocks near the fence. Over the years those rocks must have been covered by dirt and were no longer visible. Well that’s until you try to dig near the fence. I was able to get almost all of them in. Tomorrow I hope to finish, even them out, and add the small rocks behind it.
Then a trip to CT to steal hosta from my parents back yard…
