So as many of you know we have decided to change Noby’s pediatrician. Mainly because of how rude both the speech pathologist was at Medford’s Harvard Vanguard and most recently how rude the pediatrician was. Maybe I’m over sensitive but I just feel like with a first time mother dealing with everything they are throwing at me, they could have a little better bedside manor. So a couple of weeks ago I went in and filled out the paper work to have Noby’s full records sent to me so I could bring them to the new pediatrician. And as of yesterday, still nothing in the mail. So I call this morning and the conversation went something like this….
ME: Hi, I came in a couple of weeks ago to fill out the paperwork for my son’s medical records to get sent to me and I have yet to see them in the mail. I was wondering where in the process they are.
Medford Harvard Vanguard Office: Oh I remember you, I sent your request to the Somerville office, you will have to talk to them, I will transfer you. Please Hold.
Me: Ok, Cool, Thanks.
Somerville Office: Hello, Somerville Records Department.
Me: Hi, A couple of weeks ago I went into the Medford office to fill out the paperwork to have my sons complete medical records sent to me. I haven’t seen them yet and the Medford office said I should check with you.
Somerville Office: Name?
Me: Last name A S H I H A R A, First name N O B U T A K A.
Somerville Office: We haven’t seen your request yet. (LONG SILENCE)
Me (now a little annoyed): Well it’s been over a week. They said they would send the request right over.
Somerville Office: Hummm We haven’t gotten it yet. (LONG SILENCE)
Me (now more annoyed): Well what do I need to do? Do I need to go fill out new paperwork?
Somerville Office: Well you need to take it up with the Medford Office, let me transfer you.
Long LONG Silence:
Me: Hello? The Somerville Office said I needed to talk to you about ….(being cut off)
Somerville Office: This is the Somerville Office again, the Medford office didn’t want to talk to you.
Me (now pissed): She doesn’t want to talk to me?? WHAT?? WELL HOW THE HELL DO I GET RECORDS NOW, if she doesn’t want to talk to me???
Somerville Office: Do you have a fax machine?
Me: NO!
Somerville Office: Well you could send a note directly to this office saying you would like a copy of the records.
Me: No, I NEED the records TODAY, if I come to the Somerville office and fill out the paperwork AGAIN, will it be processed today so I can take them with me?
Somerville Office: Let me see if I can do that. (Silence) Yes, we will do that for you.
Me: I am on my way.
Just another reason why we are changing pediatricians! “SHE DOESN”T WANT TO TALK TO ME?” I have never had to deal with such RUDE people before!!
