Noby LOVES it when his grandparents come to Boston. Not just because he gets to see them but also cause he knows they stay at a hotel with a swimming pool! Christmas Eve morning we got up and headed to the hotel for a morning swim. Noby had a great time, Koji…. not so much. lol
We are very lucky to have some very generous neighbors. The family that lives right next door to us just adore the kids and every year they deliver a huge bag of presents for the kids! This year was no exception. Here’s Koji checking out all the gifts they dropped off.
If you remember, last year my mom and I attended Noby’s school concert and Holiday get together party. It was so cute seeing the kids on stage, sing many different holiday songs and reciting winter poems. It was such a fun event for both the kids and the parents. This year the entire event was cancelled because someone complained that last years concert was a little to Christmassy. Some of us parents were very upset about this. We decided we were going to plan some type of event where the kids could get together to play. I suggested that we have it at Together In Motion. When Noby was a toddler I would take him there on a lot play dates. It’s a great location that is very local, very clean and very fun for kids of all ages. It’s pretty much one big padded room with tons of balls and padded equipment that the kids run, climb and jump all over. We opened it up to the entire class, sending home invites with all the info. We were a little disappointed with the turnout, in the end only 5 kids from school came. Koji made 6. Even though only 6 kids were there, they sure did have a blast playing Wipeout!
Afterwards we took the exhausted kids to the mall for some McDonald’s! Can you believe it, for kids who NEVER gets McDonald’s, this week they had it twice!! haha Ohh well, it’s the holidays!
Today, after school, the boys and I took, what I hope will be our last trip to the mall before Christmas. We had a great time walking around looking at everything he hoped Santa might bring to us. We also had a pretty funny lunch in the food court. I think today was the first time Noby actually ate his entire McDonald’s happy meal. Maybe we’re turning a new leaf!!
Here’s Noby showing off his milk mustache, I just love that kid!!
Koji loves looking at books. Not nearly as much as Noby did at his age but you can still find Koji pulling books off the the shelf to flip though them. Today I remember the Leapfrog Tag Reader that we got Noby a couple of years ago. After I found the books and new batteries I gave it to Koji…
HE LOVED IT!!!
Well until his big brother came along to take over….
Then he wasn’t happy!!!
But Noby got bored quickly and then Koji LOVED it again!!!
Tonight we had a great time working on our Xmas cards. The boys did great taking directions in front of the green screen and they really seemed to enjoy themselves. So around Halloween each year we say something like, “We need to start thinking about the Christmas card.” And each year around this time we actually start working on it. Better late then never. Here’s a sneak peak into the making of our Christmas card.
Today the boys received an early Christmas gift from Ichiro’s aunt and uncle in CA. Noby loves his new LAPD sweatshirt and Koji looked adorable in his ‘future LAPD officer” t shirt.
For the past couple of days Koji will not go to sleep. He falls asleep in my arms but the minute I put him down in the crib, he wakes up and starts to scream. I check to make sure he’s ok, check his diaper, I know he’s not hungry cause he just had a bottle. The funniest part of this is that he’s sooo tired. So tired that he falls asleep standing up. He’s leaning against the side of the cirb. A few times he’s fallen. But he always just gets right back up. hen after about 3 up-and-downs he stays down and is out for the night.
Ever since Ted and Gail told us about the Enchanted Village I’ve wanted to go. That was over a year go!! This year I decided it was going to happen! My friend Joanna and I decided to take the kids today. We went through at the kids pace and although we walked through pretty quickly they seemed to really enjoy it. It was fun to see what displays they really stopped to look at.
They actually make REAL snow right in the store!!!
Noby trying to catch snow on his tongue!
The kids…
Koji stealing his big brother’s popcorn…
3 little monkeys….
Our little monkeys were being so good as we waited for the laser light show. Who doesn’t love Christmas music and lasers! The pictures aren’t that good, I was hiding my camera in my lap, but it was so much that I knew I needed to blog about it!
Today we headed to Peabody so the boys could get haircuts at Snip Its. Ever since the local Snip Its closed I’ve been getting Noby’s hair cut at a local Cost Cutters. But today was going to be Koji’s first haircut so I decided to make the trip north. Snip Its is a hair salon just for kids. What could be better then bright colors, special kid size salon chairs, tvs at every station, prizes AND lollipops! Koji did pretty good. He screamed at the beginning but as long as I stood RIGHT next to him he was happy.
Standing so close made it hard for me to take pictures but here a few I was able to snap!
Koji checking out the giant pair of scissors…
I kept telling him that you get the prize AFTER you get your haircut…
Someone WASN’T happy!
Checking out a Dora book…
So handsome!
The rest of the day didn’t go as plan. Noby REFUSED to get his haircut. As I was trying to convince him to sit in the chair I said “If you don’t sit for your haircut then we can’t go to the mall.” Well that didn’t work, he never got his haircut, so instead of the mall we headed home! He was VERY upset, especially when we had to drive right by the mall. But maybe next time he will learn I mean business! haha I have to say I was pretty bummed!!! I REALLY wanted to go to the mall! haha
