Noby was invited to his first Holiday party this weekend! His friends from EI, his old “school,” got together to celebrate. They had a great time playing, eating, doing crafts and decorating cookies!! Here’s a few pictures from the afternoon.
Decorating trees…
Licking the strips of paper for a count down chain…
Noby was more into eating the cookies then decorating them…
It’s that time of year when the heavens open and the Gods leave the best packages on our doorstep!! It’s when we get enough goodies to last the year!! That’s right, it the time of year when we received our enormous box of Godiva chocolates from Ichiro’s parents!! It arrives today and they all look so good!!
He’s in a Big Boy Bed!! Nooooo, not Noby, but Koji! Koji’s been sleeping in the bassinet part of the Bugaboo. He didn’t like the original bassinet we got him so he was sleeping in the stroller. He’s outgrown that, so we ended up borrowing Joanna and Shawn’s co-sleeper. The first night Koji was in it he slept for 5 hours!!!! It was AWESOME!
I HEART Christmas! Everyone knows that! And this year I couldn’t be more excited to have Christmas in Boston! I feel very lucky and blessed that my family is willing to change our traditions, so that my kids can wake up here Christmas morning! This will be the first year Noby understands the magic of Santa. I can’t wait for him to experience coming downstairs Christmas morning, in his own house, to see what Santa left him. BUT even more then that I want him to remember this time of year with the fondness that I remember growing up with. For the month of December, all though New Years our house was decorated to the T! It was such a magical time, the house was always festive and just made you happy! I want both Noby and Koji to experience that here and this week I had to get my butt in gear on making that happen!
Most people decorate the same way every year and there’s nothing wrong with that. But this year I knew I needed to change things up. It was going to be a big year and I want it to be perfect! We wanted to move our tree into the living room, I needed to buy stockings and find a place to hang them. I love coming up with new projects and this year we made a new hallway curtain and place to hang the stockings! I heart Christmas!!!
Sunday Ichiro and I took the boys to the car show. We try to go every year, it’s fun to walk around and check out all the cars we can’t afford! haha No really it was a great time. Noby enjoyed climbing in and out of cars and Koji enjoyed being pushed around, while he slept the day away! So I was excited to go because I really wanted to see all the cars with a third row in them. My only prerequisite for a new car is that it has a third row AND that with the third row up, I can still fit my double stroller. Ends up that’s going to be harder then I thought. Alot of the cars, when the third row is up has NO trunk space.
Here I am, begging Ichiro for this $87,000 car! I still want it!
So this week the cabinets were bare. I needed to go grocery shopping but first needed to give the kids lunch. I searched around and found English muffins in the freezer, cheese and sauce! You know what that meant, English Muffin Pizzas!! I was so excited because, come on, who doesn’t like English Muffin Pizzas! Knowing pizza is actually one of the items Noby will eat, I was more then happy to think we could have a new food to eat in this house!! I took out all the stuff and started to toast the English Muffins. As I did that Noby was eating the cheese from the bowl, sticking his fingers in the sauce and eating that. I KNEW we would be making these again. We had a great time putting the pizzas together. I left him do everything! We talked about how yummy they were going to be. Wouldn’t you know once he got that cooked pizza in front of him he said YUCK and refused to eat it! Next time he will get a cup of sauce and cheese on the side! haha
Eating the cheese as he waited…
This is him licking it, that was the best I could do!
While in NY, on Black Friday, we braved the crowds and headed to the mall. Actually because we went later in the day it actually didn’t end up being that bad. While we walked around we decided we would let Noby do a Build A Bear. Noby had a good time making his Rudolph. But both Ichiro and I thought it would be a little more interactive then it was.
Saturday we got up early, visited with Ichiro’s parents for a little bit and then headed north. Our plan was to stop at the Maher’s house, where the Bajkos were going to meet us! I couldn’t wait to get there and hang out with the girls. It’s been far to long! Once again we had a fabulous time visiting and the kids played great together.
Noby getting a little more play time on Yoyo’s iPad…
After two hours in the car, Noby was ready to run around outside. While the mommies stayed inside the nice warm house with the babies, the daddies went outside with the older kids.
At some point the Dads thought it would be a great idea to build a fire in the middle of Sarah’s backyard. They actually never got the fire lit but they did put the kids to work gathering firewood… (Sorry Sarah, for the pile of wood/rocks in the middle of your backyard!”
