Today I had Noby work on the tags. I originally thought I could just have him cut the paper using his scissors. I thought it would be ok if it wasn’t exactly straight. Because it was from HIM. However I learned very quickly that that wasn’t going to be good enough. It didn’t look good enough. We had to fix it. After I let him cut the paper, I broke out the scrap-booking paper cutter to get some straight cuts.
Next I had him glue the paper tag onto some thicker white paper…
And we cut that…
Next we glued that to green and cut that…
I forgot to take a picture of them finished… so you will have to wait for the finished project! haha SORRY!
So as many of you know I’m obsessed with Pinterest! It’s a social network that’s a virtual bulletin board. You can post and organize different things you find on the internet. Save ideas for later in an organized fashion. When you click on the picture from your bulletin board it will link you to the original post on the internet. THEN you can see what other people have posted on their bulletin board and if you like their style you can follow them! Like I said I’m addicted. Anyway a few weeks ago I found this picture on Pinterest….
It linked me back to maddycakesmuse.blogspot.com’s blog. There the blogger gave free downloads to the tags PLUS these tags…
I loved the idea and thought I would have Noby make them for his teachers. Of course I needed to make a few changes, starting with a black bucket. We searched but couldn’t find any black tin so I thought, why not paint them! I decided to have Noby do one part of the project each day this week. First up… painting the pots!
I ended up using little flower pots, I had Noby paint them black…
Today was my birthday and after a slow start (to many Sharkatinis) it honestly turned out to be a perfect day! It started with Noby remembering it was my birthday when I went in his room this morning! It was awesome, he said “It’s Mommy’s Birthday!” Then we went in to wake Ichiro up, Noby sang the entire Happy Birthday song to me! LOVED IT, my heart melted. I was also very impressed, I didn’t know he knew all the words! After everyone was dressed we thought we might go get some breakfast but before we left Ichiro and the boys gave me a couple of funny cards and a beautiful Pandora bracelet. I was Soooo excited! I’ve wanted a Pandora bracelet for a while!! We decided that maybe I should get the next size bracelet. If anymore charms were added it would be to tight. So we skipped breakfast and headed to the mall.
Look how beautiful my bracelet is!! Ichiro (and the boys) did such a great job! The different color glass beads represent their birthstone colors!
After the mall we decided to get some lunch. We were going to try the Rainforest Cafe however the wait was an hour and a half!! So we headed to Border Cafe. I’ll never complain about Mexican! Especially margaritas!
We kept asking Noby what he wanted for lunch and he kept saying “a hamburger.” We decided we would get it and hope he was going to expand his menu. No such luck. He wouldn’t take a bite. Oh well! haha
Koji was so chill the entire time we were there. He just hung out in his car seat and sang us songs!
Thanks Ichiro for making my birthday awesome!! LU!
Megan’s away so Keith decided to come over and celebrate my birthday a little early!! While he finished a fifth of Captain, I decided to try to make the Sharkatinis I had at the beach. I have to admit they came out pretty good and I might have drank a few to many! haha
Koji had a few blow outs this week and one in his Bundle Me. Having a broken washer wasn’t helping all the laundry that was piling up. I had to bring Noby to school, so I grabbed his snowsuit. Now we were rushing and I couldn’t understand why it wasn’t zipping correctly. I thought, “He must have to many clothes on under it.” When we got home and I took the snowsuit off I realized it didn’t fit because it was only a size 0-3 months. Haha OOPS!!
Check it out.. Koji looks like a little stuffed sausage!
Now that everyone is in their big beds it’s time to tackle the kitchen. Today I moved Noby to the kitchen table to eat. He was excited to sit on a big boy chair! During breakfast he even let Koji sit in his booster seat.
Koji ended up sleeping with us every night we were in RI. When we got back to Boston it was time to move that kid into his own room! And of course he did great!! Well except for EVERY time the pacifier fell out of his mouth. Ichiro and I were in and out of that room putting the pacifier back into his mouth. It kept us up most of the night but Koji did sleep the entire night in his own bed, so that was a start!
The co-sleeper wasn’t exactly empty!! I could still keep an eye on my two little sleeping angel!
