Today Koji had his one year well appointment. Again I can’t believe he’s already one years old!
Here he is at his 1 month appointment…
And from today…
The doctor was VERY please with Koji weight. As you remember 3 months ago, at his 9 month well visit she was a little concern because he had drop in weight. She made us come back in 6 weeks where she was happy that it was going up. Today she was very pleased to say his weight had gone up again and that she didn’t think we needed to be concerned anymore.
As of today Koji’s stats are…
weight: 21 lbs
height: 30.5 inches
So I just have to say that Koji is such a little trooper. He had 4 shots and 3 vials of blood taken today and when we left the office he was a happy little camper. He’s such a great kid and makes my job so easy!!
That’s right! My cousin Alison came all the way to Boston from PA for about a 24 hour period. She’s a rock star!!! Alison, and her friend Melanie, are huge Hanson fans. That’s right Hanson, as in the band, as in MMMM Bop! Anyway Alison and Melanie are HUGE fans. They left PA on Friday morning and headed to North Hampton, MA to see Hanson play at The Calvin. Then Saturday, Alison and Melanie headed to New Haven, CT to see them play at Toad’s Place. Finally Sunday they headed to Boston where Hanson would play at the House of Blues!!! Told you they were huge fans!
Alison and Melanie were staying at Brenda’s house and we all met up in Boston where they were getting the fastest tour of Boston ever. The 50 cent walking tour ended at Boston Beer Works where we sat outside and had some AMAZING beer!!
Some AMAZING pumpkin beer…
Boston Beer Works…
SO I had a pretty good buzz going on when we left Boston Beer Work. Alison suggested I go to the show, I thought WHY NOT!!! I had a great time!! And I will admit Hanson was nothing like I remember and they were a lot better then I thought!! I’m happy I went, it was a great night out!
The boys and I decided to stay in CT an extra day so we could visit with their great-grandparents! We started off in the morning by bringing bagels and donuts over to Grandpepere’s house. Noby just ADORES his Grandpepere! Often I ask him a question like, “Guess where we are going today?” or “Guess who we get to see today?” Out of nowhere he’ll say “Grandpepere’s house” or “GRANDPEPERE!!!” I’m always sad to have to tell him that isn’t where we are going those day. BUT TODAY I was sooo excited to tell Noby we were actually going to Grandpepere’s house! We had an awesome morning visiting!
Noby was very excited to show off the Cars he got with the his birthday money from Grandpepere!
Koji checking out Grandpepere…
It wasn’t long till he kept wanting to be picked up by his Grandpepere!
Noby caught eating WAY MORE donuts that he was given!
The kids sure do love their Grandpepere!!
After Grandpepere’s house we picked up some lunch and headed over to Rocky Hill to visit with the boys Great-Grandma! They were so excited to see her! We had a lovely lunch and even had some time to play in the backyard!
Photo op….
Great-Grandma had a little something for the boys to open for their birthdays!
Noby getting a little help with the card…
After lunch we headed outside. The weather was BEAUTIFUL and the boys had a great time running around!
Great-Grandma has the best trees to climb!
I love this picture of the boys in the tree and Brenda peaking out from under it!
It’s hard to believe that one year ago today I became a mommy for the second time! It’s amazing how fast this year has FLOWN by! My little man is ONE and I couldn’t be any more proud of both my boys. I know I’m the mom and have to think this but both boys are growing up to be smart, kind and funny little men. They have Ichiro and I on our toes but also have us laughing all the time!!! We couldn’t love them any more then we already do. Sure they have changed our lives but it was 100% for the better!!!
We are still in CT. But this meant we could have Taco Birthday Night Dinner with Memere, Buddy AND Auntie!!! With a cake of course!!!
Today the boys and I hit the Topsfield Fair before heading to CT. I’ld describe the Topsfield Fair as a mini-Big-E! It was great! We met Noby’s friend Carolyn and her Mom there and boy, was it a blast. Both Carolyn and Lisa love roller-coasters so of course Noby would ride not only his first today, but his second and third too!!! He loved it!
No sooner did we walk into the Midway, Noby saw the Angry Birds. He said he just HAD to have the Blue Angry Bird!
Look at the pure excited on his face…
Carolyn flying the spaceship…
Noby’s FIRST roller-coaster ever!!!! He wasn’t tall enough to go alone on this one so lucky me, got to go too!! haha
He just LOVED it and for his second roller-coaster ride he went alone with Carolyn!
Getting ready for another roller-coaster!
I just LOVE this picture of Carolyn and Noby.
We ended the day with a ride on the BIG SLIDE! haha Again Noby wasn’t tall enough so I had to go down with him! haha
After our morning swim we headed to Brenda’s house for some of her famous Brenda Breakfast! It was just going to a relaxing morning so we thought it would be the perfect opportunity to have the boys open all the gifts they got at the party yesterday! I can’t even begin to say how overwhelmed we felt by the generosity of our friends! The boys loved everything they received!! Here are a few pictures from the morning…
Think someone is excited??
Checking out Noby’s Angry Bird…
He was studying his new Car’s Play-Doh…
Noby received the Disney’s Big Book of Car’s stories. He flipped through EVERY page looking and explaining all the pictures!
Koji did the same with his book….
Of course he had to tell us what planets were on the packaging…
My parents were staying at the local hotel so this morning Noby and I got up before Koji and Daddy and headed over for an early morning swim!! Noby had a great time swimming with his Buddy!
I’ve been planning the boys party for a while now and today it all came together!! Not to toot my own horn but I would even say it even went out without a hitch! This week I even stressed about the forecast and how it said RAIN RAIN RAIN but I guess all the praying and finger crossing payed off. It misted for part of the day but nothing like the storms they were predicting! Ichiro and I are so grateful that we have such wonderful friends and family who made the trip out to the boonies to celebrate with us! You guys are awesome!!
Thanks to Mom, Dad and Brenda for coming early and setting up the tables with me. Everyone that worked at the farm couldn’t believe how great the tables took. The hayride driver said I was just like Martha Stewart. haha
When everyone arrived we had about 1/2 hour in the farm bouncy house…
Next it was time for the ….
Everyone got on the hayride and we headed out to the orchard to pick some apples…
As people got on the hayride we gave them a hat and bandana..
Some people really embraced the hats and bandanas…
The hayride dropped us off at the area for our own private apple picking…
Almost everyone….
The beach kids…
Noby and Carolyn…
Then the hayride brought us back to our tent for pizza and…
CAKE!!! We are so lucky to have an amazing friend who just happen to be an amazing baker!!! We can’t thank Lisa enough for making the kids such a beautiful cake!
Lisa even made Noby and Koji their own mini pumpkin cakes…
Then we headed to the hedge maze…
The kids had a great time running around in there…
As everyone was getting ready to leave, the kids got to pick out pumpkins to bring home…
Koji received an early birthday gift in the mail the other day and I’ve been dying to give it to him. I knew he would love it! But I also felt I should wait for his birthday to give it to him or at least the big birthday party this weekend. Well thank goodness Kelly is awesome and last night asked why I was waiting!!! She wanted me to give it to him just as much I wanted to!!
Ohhhhhh….
He walked forward, pushing the cart, then walked backwards pulling the cart, over and over and over again!
Checking out the new food Kelly sent with the cart!
In and out, in and out…
Thanks again Kelly, Avery and Ari!! You always know exactly what the kids will love!!! Can’t wait to see you this weekend!!
Even though our visit was short we had a great time seeing Katie and her family! They were in town for a wedding and only had a couple of hours today before boarding the plane back to DC. We decided to hit the Big Apple, a farm that the Lemoines have been taking me to for years, for some apples and pumpkins.
It proved to be impossible to try to get a picture of all the kids with the pumpkins…
Thank goodness that I have an IT guy that might be pretty good at Photoshop. Check out his handy work…
Family picture time…
The kids had a great time picking out some pumpkins…
