My sewing machine has really been having a workout the last few days!! Today I banged out a Santa’s bag for our Christmas card. Ichiro and I have been working hard to come up with an idea that can top, or at least be as spectacular as last years card. ITS BEEN HARD!!! Here’s a sneak peak into our card, well a picture of my Santa’s bag!!
I told you I’ve been on a “finishing project mission.” And tonight I finished a big one! My first quilt is completed. I LOVE IT! Of course being my first quilt ever, and having no formal training, there are a few mistakes, things I might have done differently but over all it’s not that bad.
The binding! Each side is a different fabric.
The back? Maybe it's the front now!
The other side. I have to say it looks totally different in person, the colors are way better!!!
So I haven’t been feeling very Christmasy lately. Yes, I made my Starbuck wreath but overall I just haven’t been feeling it. And to make it worse I was feeling guilty that I hadn’t decorated for Noby.
Today Kerry, Brenda and I headed into the city for the Bazaar Bizarre. It’s a craft fair that prides its self as being “not your granny’s craft fair!” And believe me, none of it was expected. This year it was held at the Castle and I couldn’t believe that the line to get in was around the corner.
The Castle!
The line...
Inside there was even a DJ spinning some records!
So one of the biggest highlights of the bizarre was getting to meet Heidi Kenney!!! I’ve been following Heidi’s blog, My Paper Crane, for years now. I must check it everyday, maybe a few times a day! It just seems like she has such an amazing life. She crafts for her job, she travels for her crafts and it looks like she has a perfect family and house! I was such a stalker that I asked for a picture!
I was sooo excited to meet Heidi!!! Don't I look like a dork!! I think she was a little scared of me! hahaha
I would have gotten everything on her table but knew I had no where to put it. So I narrowed it down to a cute little mushroom and a couple of sad used tissues. I have no idea where I’m going to put them but they were so cute I couldn’t leave them!!
My cute little mushroom!!
My sad little used tissues! (Aren't they soo cute!)
So as you all know I sometimes come up with crazy ideas!! Well at one of my last trips to Starbucks I fell in LOVE with the holiday decorations. If any of you have been there lately you know what I’m talking about. I decided that I could totally make one so off to the craft store I went. Well 3 trips to the craft stores later I’m still working on it… Here are a few of my pictures so far…
So we all know Noby looks exactly like Ichiro, I get it!! At Together in Motion the other day someone actually asked me if I adopted him!! I thought that was a little harsh but I get it, I get it! Many of you know that Noby has been our little vegetarian lately. We keep trying to get him to try meat but he really wants no part in it. Taking a bite and spitting it out. Actually, he does enjoy a little fish, which really isn’t a bad thing. So last nights dinner was one of Ichiro and my favorite Japanese dish, Tonkatsu. I think we must have ate that everyday in Japan. Well maybe eating so much of it while pregnant with Noby did something. We gave Noby an entirely Japanese meal last night; rice, edamame, and Tonkatsu. I was ready to make a grill cheese when he refused to eat it. Well to our surprise he LOVED it!!! Maybe it’s the sauce but he loved the tonkatsu, I was surprised how much he ate!! I guess he’s all Japanese!
Exactly what we figured, Noby went right for the edamame.
Trying to show him how his chopsticks work.
Fork or chopstick? Chopstick or fork?
As long as it had some Tonkutsu sauce on it, Noby was ALL for it! (LOVE the pinky!)
The Saturday after Thanksgiving Ichiro, Noby and I headed to CT to see my parents. While Brenda, Mom and I went to the craft fair held at the Big E, Noby, Ichiro and Dad stayed back at the house and “rested.” That night Ichiro and I headed over to the Mahers to hang out for a bit. Mo and Jeff joined us and it was so nice to just hang out with everyone. Ichiro snapped a few pictures that night… here are the best ones!!!!
Bodie getting ready for bed.
"Is there something on my face?"
Ichiro thought it was funny snapping a picture of us girls. We had so much fun looking people up on facebook!
Thanks Mahers and Bajkos for a wonderful, well over due, night!!!
