We are very exited to say that our great friend Andy has decided to once again become a mass-hole. And naturally become a Red Sox fan. 😉 Tonight we headed over to his new place to be his first guest. Also it wouldn’t be the perfect first night without a little Legal. Yummy!! I have to say that Noby loved trying salmon for the first time. Check out our pictures from the night. First, Noby at Legal Seafood and secondly the guys in Andy’s new apartment.
Today was Noby’s 1 year doctors appointment. As we were walking in the office I start to think back to the first time we took Noby there. Those first visits I cried and cried. I was so worried about him, he wasn’t eating and I really didn’t know what else to do. The doctors and nurses were all so wonderful. They were so helpful getting Noby on the right track. It was fun to show all the nurses how great Noby is doing. They called our name and I walked in and he followed right behind me. It really was the cutest thing! The appointment went great. They have no concerns about him at all. We can start more table foods and start to switch to whole milk.  Which is great timing because I can tell my milk supply is dropping. I know he isn’t getting enough breast milk at night.  Below I listed his stats. Noby’s growing like a weed! He jumped up to the 80 percentile for height, he’s now 31 inches! His weight is a different story. He did gain almost 2 lbs but that dropped him into the 25 percentile for weight. But like I said the doctor is not concern. We know he eats and we know how active he is.  We also know what his dad looks like! hahahaha
So two days after our Secret Date Night, Ichiro added a new entry to our online calendar. It was for today and was titled “Super Secret Date Night!!” I was very excited and couldn’t wait to see what he had planned. I asked Ichiro if it was a family event OR if he remembered that planning a Secret Date Night, especially a Super Secret Date Night, meant also remembering to plan for child care. OOPS!!! Thanks goodness I have the best sister even and she was able to move her schedule around a little to help us out on such short notice!!
So where did we go??? It was just the BEST Super Secret Date Night I could ever asked for! OK I might have hinted (or flat out told) to Ichiro that I really REALLY wanted to do this. See back in 1988 my sister went to New York City to see a musical on Broadway. I was very jealous she got to go. Anyway she came back with the soundtrack, on tape, and she might have listened to it a few times. That was until I BORROWED it, fell in love with it, and maybe never returned it. I just loved that tape! I must have listened it to a zillion times and knew know EVERY song.  Awhile ago we had seen that the show was going back to Broadway and I asked Ichiro to take me. We never made it down to New York but recently I saw it was coming to Boston. SO like I said I might have hinted to Ichiro that he should probably buy me a ticket. AND HE DID and HE MADE IT A SUPER SECRET DATE NIGHT!!!
So tonight I got to see, a musical I have wanted to see since 1988!! I warned Ichiro that I knew every word to every song but would try not to sing out loud. I got goose bumps during the first song and sang every song in my head. Tonight I got to see THE CHORUS LINE!! It was amazing and I had the best time ever!!  We I purchased the CD and I made Ichiro listen to it on the way home. I honestly do not think he beleived me when I told him I knew every song, that was until the car ride home. And he didn’t ask for a divorse!! haha
Thanks again for the perfect Super Secret Date Night!! Love ya!
Yesterday was little Noby’s 1st birthday party. I want to thank everyone who came to celebrate with him! It means so much to us that you all took time out of your busy schedule to be with us. It was a crazy day but over all it went ok (I know I’m hard on myself!) The rain kept us inside, which made it HOT but everyone made the most of it. It was a lot of stimulation for Noby; he never has this many people in his space. Also to see all his worlds colliding! He was a little cranky and wouldn’t nap, until the Baby Whisper (aka my mom) was able to get him down. Even though he might have slept through most of the party, he had a great time!! I can say with almost all certainty that his favorite part of the party was the cake. Lisa made the most amazing 1st birthday cake ever! All I told her was jungle theme and she, once again, made the perfect cake!! EVERYONE loved the cake! Even people, who say they aren’t cake people, loved it and said it was the best cake they had ever had!!! Way to go Lisa! I’m sorry to everyone who didn’t get to see Noby open gifts. He was more interested in the bows and hangers then all the great goodies inside. Throughout the night we slowly helped him open his gifts. He got so excited with what was in each box we couldn’t do more then one at a time. You are all so generous and we can’t thank you enough for everything you have done for Noby throughout the year. Thanks again for celebrating with us!
Noby's FIRST "Lisa Cake!" It looked perfect and tasted even better!! YUMMY!!!
Lisa even make Noby his own little"smash cake!"
Yoyo trying to help Noby enjoy his cake!
Noby loving his first birthday cake!
Avery couldn't believe how messy Noby got!! GROSS!!
The food!!! Turned out pretty good.
Keith, Brian, Lisa and Megan enjoying some food!
Grandparents AND Great Grandparents!!! We are so excited that Noby's Grandparents and 2 of his Great Grandparents were able to make it to the party!
Sarah and Bodie having fun in the playroom!
Ari also had a great time playing! We didn't hear one peep from her the entire afternoon!
We were excited that the entire Cormier family was able to make it to the party.
Isn't she just beautiful? I just love this picture of Avery!
Speaking of beauty, Sleep Beauty! We were so excited that Niels and Lana were able to make it to the party!
Later that night we had Noby try on his birthday hat. He didn't really like them! haha
We also helped him open his gifts. Here he's trying out his popper.
Here Noby is trying out this gift from Yoyo and Gigi!! Yup it's a full size keyboard. Noby loves hearing the sounds it makes when he bangs (and stands) on the keys!
Memere and Grandpa got Noby his very own chair. He loves it and plans to read many books while relaxing in it.
Here's the little birthday boy, sitting on his new chair watching a movie on his portable ipod dvd player. I love how the chair has his name on it!
Ichiro is home today (and tomorrow) to help me get ready for the party. He decided he really wants to be a SAHD (Stay At Home Dad). This would be his theme song…
So tonight I had planned a secret date night for Ichiro and myself. The MOS was having a members only event and being members I thought it might be fun. This was the second time I picked Ichiro up at work and he had no idea where we were going. I just think it’s so much fun! So right now we are in line at the Omni Theater for a double feature.
It’s hard to believe that it was a year ago today that Noby entered our life. On one hand it feels like yesterday I told Ichiro it was time to go to the hospital, but at the same time I can’t remember life before Noby. It has been such a wonderful year and I wouldn’t change any part of it! Noby really has made our life so much more meaningful, everyday he learns something new and he just amazes us! I’m sure every parent says this about their child, but I honestly feel we were so blessed to have such a wonderful son!
We had a crazy weekend so Noby’s party is going to be next weekend. Today we met my parents for a birthday lunch for Noby! He got his favorite new food, a grilled cheese with grapes and broccoli.
Today Ichiro and I headed north to Georges Mills, NH to celebrate the marriage of Brian and Sarah! On our drive up we couldn’t believe how perfect the weather was. We kept saying, “I hope it’s an outside wedding, the weather is just perfect for an outside wedding!” Well Brian and Sarah didn’t disappoint! The backdrop to the ceremony was Otter Pond, it was just beautiful! Sarah and her family have been vacationing on this pond since Sarah was a child. They recently purchased their second vacation home on the lake and this is where the wedding was. Check out these pictures of the evening, everything was just beautiful, especially the bride!!!
This picture doesn't need a description! The entire night was just stunning!
Every last detail was perfect!
They asked that no photos be taken during the ceremony but Ichiro was able to snap this one after!
Brian and Sara during the cocktail hour.
The first dance!
The girls!! So HOT!
The guys!! They clean up so well!
I love this shot of Geoffrey and Brian!
Lisa made the beautiful cupcakes!! All I can say is YUMMY!!!
We’ve been so busy lately, it started to look like we might not make it to the Big E again this year. (Remember last year Ichiro wouldn’t let us go because it was so close to my due date!) Having every weekend booked didn’t look promising. But Ichiro and Brenda came through!! They both took yesterday off and we headed down to the Big E in the morning!!! I was so excited I couldn’t sleep!!! Noby first trip to the Big E, I was so excited to show him the animals!!!! We were there all day, and I have to say he did such an amazing job. He didn’t whine at all, he just enjoyed his ride in the backpack! I learned that he is such his mothers son… a people watcher! Here are a few pictures from the day!
Noby checking out the sheep. I thought he was going to LOVE the animals but I was wrong. He was nervous, VERY nervous! And when the sheep start to baaa, Noby started to shake!! TIME TO GO! haha
He wouldn't take his eyes off those sheep!
For some reason he didn't mind the cows. Maybe because they didn't moo at him! haha
The horses were ok, well until they started to move. Animal time is OVER!! haha
I love watching Ichiro with Noby! He is such a great dad!
They are so cute together!
We took a little break for a Maine Baked Potato!
Noby said the line was worth the wait!
We wanted Noby to get a little energy out so we allowed him to run around the grassy front of the Maine building.
At one point this little girl wanted in on the action. She sat herself down right next to Ichiro. Moments later her hand was on his knee! He has such a way with the ladies!! haha
He didn't want to share his wagon wheels with anyone!
Love him!
After our break, we hit the crafts. Noby and daddy really enjoyed this spinnie things. NO WAY!
In line for yummy kettle corn!!!
Before we left we saw the row of clydesdale horses. I tried to get one last photo, but Noby wasn't having it. He wouldn't take his eyes off those horses!
