As many of you know, Keith and Megan will be getting married in Nov. Today, Megan’s wedding party threw her a lovely shower at Sel de la Terre in Boston. VERY YUMMY!!
I just love the place settings Megan picked out!
Dina made a beautiful scrapbook for Keith and Megan! What fun pictures!!!
While mommy was at the shower, Noby and Daddy spent the day watching Nascar on TV. When I got home then were both passed out waiting for the rain delay to pass.
Today Memere and I gave Noby his first “bath”. I use the quotation marks because it was more of a sponge bath. He didn’t seem to mind at all, what a good baby!!!
Wednesday started with another visit to the doctors. Again we needed to check Noby’s weight and jaundice levels. Today was MUCH better. Sue, the lactation consultant at this office was right about the breast shields. Noby was able to eat, causing him to pee and poop. I have NEVER been so happy to see poop before. NEVER! Noby’s weight was up to 7 lb 14 oz and we couldn’t be happier. Before we left the office we headed to the lab for the third day of blood work. The nurses tried 3 times in his arm and twice on his heal, and nothing. They couldn’t find the veins. It was so sad to hear him scream, we had to stop, even the nurse said it was enough!
In the afternoon we ran to a couple of stores. Check out this first visit to the Depot!!
Again, can you tell that memere is with us, LOTS of photos!!!
Tonight, Keith and Megan came to visit Noby. It was great to have some company!!!
Maybe Noby will get a playmate soon!!! 🙂
Here are a few pictures of Noby and Daddy relaxing!!
After being up most of the night, we got up early to go back to the pediatrician. This visit would consist of a second weight check, a second blood check and a visit with yet another Lactation Consultant. I didn’t have high hopes for her, seeing that all the other Lactation Consultants were not helpful. I figured by this time it was a lost cause. So at this appointment, Noby’s weight stayed the same. This was good, it means that the formula was working. He also made it though the blood test and Sue, the Lactation Consultant suggested we went to Babies R Us to purchase some nibble shields.
The nurses really got to know Noby.
Today, Kathy came to visit from CT. It was a wonderful! She was able to help me with all my questions on breast feeding and we even worked on how we were going to paint the train in the baby’s room.

Kathy working on the stencil for Noby’s room.
Joanna, Shawn and Avery sent us this yummy arrangement.
Ok, this is going to be a long post… I know it’s been a couple of days, but cut me some slack! I just had a baby!!
The past couple of days have been a emotional roller coaster. Tons of ups and downs. As many of you know, when we left the hospital Noby wasn’t eating, peeing or pooping. It was hard for me, I felt like I was doing something wrong. Noby couldn’t attach and therefor wasn’t eating. Because he wasn’t eating he wasn’t peeing or pooping. It was an awful cycle, and I was pretty emotional about it. At the hospital I met with the Lactation Consultant several times and each time she said it would work out if I did this. While each nurse that came in the room said I needed to that. Everyone had their own idea of what needed to be done and no ones suggestions were the same or were working. As we worked on it, we were told to start feeding Noby with a syringe. I was to pump everything I could and give it to him with a syringe/feeding tube thing. I was only able to pump a couple of CCs, not enough for a growing baby boy.
Ichiro and I feeding Noby the first day home.
Hungry Noby!
Monday morning we headed to our first pediatrician appointment. Usually not done for a couple of days, we needed to get a weight check on Noby. He was born weighing 8 lbs and 3 oz and as of Monday was down to 7lb 8oz. Doctors were concerned and we agreed that Noby’s diet should be supplemented with formula. We were to give the formula with the syringe so that Noby would have what they called nibble confusion. During this visit Noby also got blood work done, he has a slight case of jaundice. It was the saddest thing to see him being held down and a needle stuck in his arm. I felt like the worse mom ever!
Noby being weighed at the doctors. Can you tell my mother went to the doctors with me, pictures of everything!! lol
JFF sent us some of the most beautiful flowers I have ever seen! I called Ichiro at work and then sent him this picture. Mindy did a great job picking them out!! lol
Can you believe it… the hospital just lets you leave with the baby!! It was a tad it overwhelming but felt great to be home. Inu has been keeping an eye on Noby, making sure he knows where he is at all times! Here are a few pictures from today. Will post more later…

Well our little man finally decided to show up. It’s been about 36 hours since he made his arrival. It’s been a roller-coaster ride but well worth it. Here are a few pictures. Will post more later!
