Preschool, Here We Come!!

So it’s official, Noby will be attending preschool in September!  Ichiro and I are so excited for him. Wednesday we attended Noby’s first IEP team meeting.  It really couldn’t have gone any better!! They decided that all the tests showed that Noby is scoring in normal range and come fall he will only qualify for speech services.  This is great news but it also means that he won’t be able to attend the free preschool in town.  While we waited for some paperwork, one of the teachers asked if we had any idea where we wanted to send him to preschool.  We explained that we hadn’t thought much about it and not being from Medford we were going to have to do some research.  She listed off a few in town and then also said that they do run a program here for children scoring in the “normal” range.  She checked it out while we were there and there was ONE spot still open for Sept.   She explained that if we decided to enroll Noby in this program it would allow the IEP team to keep an eye on him, making sure he is progressing normally.  Ichiro and I looked at each other and knew it was something we wanted to do!  SO we signed him up, gave our deposit, and even got a tour of his classroom!  We are so excited!
