Ichiro and Noby are down for the count and today I’m starting to not feel good. 🙁 It’s going to be a long weekend…

Wednesday Ichiro was home sick from work. He slept most of the day to try to kick the cold. That afternoon we gave Noby some Wii playing time and thought it was funny that Noby started to fall asleep while playing. We moved him to the couch where to ended up taking a long nap. Turns out he was so tired because it was the beginning of a cold for him too!

A few weeks ago Brenda and I decided we were going out. Like Out Out! Usually us going out means a little shopping, maybe some dinner, or sometimes a movie. But this night we were determined to go out. Out out, like to a bar! We were both looking pretty cute, if I do say so myself, Brenda came to pick me up and at the same time we said “Where too?” Yup we both had NO idea where to go. It’s been so long since I’ve been out to a bar, I had no idea where to go. We ended up at a bar in Davis Square. We quickly realized this wasn’t our scene and opted to leave. Since neither of us had dinner that night we ended up at Redbones! I ordered some Buffalo Scallops and quickly fell in love! They were amazing and I knew I needed to make some at home. When Ichiro was NY I thought I would try to make them. I had never cooked scallops before so I check youtube for a video. After cooking them I just tossed them in buffalo sauce. They were awesome! That first night I didn’t take any pictures, well just one that I emailed to Ichiro. Last week I made it again for Ichiro. It was a hit!
Start by melting a couple of tablespoons of butter over high heat…
I dried the scallops on a paper towel…
Hit them with a little salt and pepper…
Sear for two minutes on one side….
take a picture of your dog…
don’t forget the cat…
After two minutes flip them over…
Cook for another minute or two, but don’t over cook!
Add some buffalo sauce…
Mix…
And serve with white rice…
Enjoy!

It’s hard to believe but Koji is already 4 months old!! Where has the time gone? We had his well visit today and the doctor couldn’t be more pleased with his growth. I went back to compare Koji’s stats with Noby’s and believe it or not, they are very simular. I was convinced that Koji was so much bigger then Noby at this age. However the difference is only ounces, and Noby weighed more!
Height: 26.5 inches
Weight: 15lb 3oz
Head: 16 3/4 inches

I’m not sure where but this week I heard someone say that football was all about the 3Fs; Football, Food and Family. I didn’t think much about it at the time but tonight as I sit here watching the Super Bowl, I realized they were right. Now Ichiro and I will admit that we don’t watch much football during the season, we might catch a game or two here and there, but we ALWAYS watch the Superbowl! And without even knowing it we always followed the 3Fs; football, special yummy foods and family/friends! Earlier in the day, I said how I wished we planned a Super Bowl party, but in the end I was so happy that I got to watch the game with my 3 favorite guys!
On the way home from bowling today, we picked up a few things to make a Super Bowl feast. On the menu was chicken nachos and a recipe that I saw on The Pioneer Woman’s website called Shrimp de Gallo. It all came out amazing and of course we both ate way to much!
Tonight our 3Fs included…
Football: THE SUPER BOWL!!
Food: Chicken Nachos with Pioneer Woman’s Shrimpo de Gallo (recipe to come)
Family: My favorite 3 boy!!!

Saturday can be described as Noby’s Day! It all started with Brenda and I taking him, and just him, to the Boston Children’s Museum. Ichiro had some work he needed to get done so he offered to keep Koji with him. It was cute when we left the house, Noby was standing on the front porch and said, “Koji?” Like I had forgot him! LOL He was so excited when we realized that he had both Auntie and me to himself. The museum was fun, we allowed Noby to just go where ever he wanted. That meant Brenda and I were just running after him, but he was having such a good time we didn’t mind. At one point his cheeks were soo red it looked like he had make up on! lol
Once we got home, I asked Noby where he wanted to sleep that night. It was time and we just had to get it done. I knew if he said the planet room that we would bust our butts to have it done by that night. Of course Noby said he wanted to sleep in the planet room so Ichiro and I started working. We took the bed off the frame, the AC out of the window, constructed the bed rails, hung the video monitor, plus little things like new sheets, safety caps for the plugs and a general clean out of all the remaining tools that were still in there. The room looked great and Noby was VERY excited to head to bed that night.
Our bedtime routine was done the same way, except for the fact that I actually got to lay in bed to read Danny and the Dinosaur. Noby was great, he kept hugging his stuffed animals and kissing them. I wanted to keep the routine the same, as much as possible. I thought it would make the transition easier. So after the story, I got up, gave him a kiss and said goodnight. Noby was fine with it, he said goodnight and see you in the morning. I grabbed the monitor and headed downstairs. We watched for a little while and he didn’t move however we could hear him say “I can’t do this.” Turns out that the room was MUCH darker then his old room, even with his turtle nightlight. So Ichiro went in, installed a brighter nightlight, laid down for a while with him, reread Danny and the Dinosaur and then tried again to leave. This time it was a success. Noby fell asleep in his bed with no problem. He slept all night, even through a massive thunder and lightning storm we had!
I’m so proud of him. Noby is growing so fast and is such an awesome little guy!

It’s hard to believe that we’re expecting MORE snow!! Although all our snow days have turned out to be a lot of fun, I just can’t imagine where we’ll put more snow! During my blogging hiatus, the boys and I took a trip to CT. Ichiro was out of town, a big snow storm was coming and I couldn’t be stuck in this house, alone any longer! We had a great time hanging out with my parents. We really didn’t do much besides visit and that was totally ok with me!!! Once again the camera didn’t come out that often but here are a few cute pictures I did end up taking!
Noby was helping me put together Koji’s new walker…
Great-Grandma even came for a little visit!
Noby even got to play outside with Cici, he couldn’t believe how much snow there was!
