We just got back from the “department store” where Ichiro was able to get a memory card reader. Now I can post all the pictures of us traveling to Japan.
The morning started with us getting picked up from the Ashihara’s at 7:30. The car took us to the airport where we jumped on a commuter flight to Dullas Airport in DC. There we found our connection terminal of ANA. While checking in the lady told us we could check out the premier waiting area. It was a separate area for just business and first class people. They gave you free drinks and food, comfy sitting areas and private bathroom. WITH HEATED TOILET SEATS!!!
We boarded the plane, from a separate entrance area and got settled in for our long flight.
The stewardess walked around to offer ANA sweaters for the flight! She also gave us slippers. As soon as we had taken off, they started to serve the meal. The lady walked around and gave us menus. First you picked either Japanese or International meals. The stewardess walked around set our tables with table clothes, wine glasses for water, real napkins and silverware. Next she gave us the first course. I said to Ichiro “did I order this??” but we just went with it.
So Ichiro picked the Japanese meals and I picked the International. We were next served this.
Ok now I was nervous, is this what I ordered? I thought I ordered beef. Ichiro said “I have no idea what I’m eating but its good!” Oh wait this is just the second course!
I have never seen airline food like this!!! My beef was cooked perfectly and Ichiro had salmon somewhere in those bowls. Perfect fish on the airplane. By this time we were FULL. But the stewardess came around with this yummy combo. Fruit, sherbet, whip cream and a yummy cookie.
Ok I know what your saying, “WOW Becky thanks for the pictures of the food.” LOL well there isn’t much room, I’m on an airplane!!!
I think I now kicked Ichiro’s ass on Nintendo Tetris for a while, until he said it was because he was falling asleep. (YEAH RIGHT!!) People started to close all the windows because it never got dark out. We followed the sun to Japan! The next several hours was filled with movies, music, Nintendo and sleep, not in any order. Here are some pictures.
Ichiro’s dad is always working!!! See he’s working on his computer while watching his little tv.
Here’s a picture of Ichiro, his chair is in recline mood. He tried to convince me we need those LED lights on our bed. UMMM NO!
Soon people started to open their windows and it got a lot brighter. Here’s a picture of Ichiro sleeping with his sexy eye mask on.
Check this picture out. His chair is in bed mode.
So that was our flight to Japan. 14 hours on an airplane. Not as bad as it sounds, if you are in Business Class!
